Top Leaders: Parents Must Get Children Out of Public School
Citing indoctrination and sexualization of children in government schools, along with other concerns, a number of top conservative and Christian voices across America have urged parents to remove their kids from public schools in recent days.

Among the leaders who have joined the growing nationwide chorus were talk-radio king Rush Limbaugh, evangelist Franklin Graham, Christian leader David Lane, and Catholic talk-show host Mother Miriam. And this may be just the start.

Speaking on his radio show, which estimates suggest is heard by over 15 million Americans, Limbaugh blamed government education for the sorry state of affairs in America. And for the first time ever, he brazenly urged parents to pull their children out and homeschool them.

“I think it’s becoming very apparent to Millennial parents, parents of Millennial kids,” Limbaugh said. “Their kids are struggling in the wretched, horrible ...

I'm curious, has anything changed with this situation in 10 years?
Rush Limbaugh doesn't have kids, but don't let little things like facts get in your way.

My in-laws sent my wife to private Christian school, Jim, along with her brother. Does that make them rich too, which is your point? No, just discerning and self-sacrificing. My father-in-law was a blue collar guy who worked himself very hard to provide for his family and see that they got the best he could afford.

Trashing out those schools and Christian schools today is a bit of a ridiculous argument, don't you think, Jim? I don't have a teaching degree and neither does my wife. But our developmentally delayed kid can out do public school kids that are his peers. We have a great God, Jim, and He does not need your liberal establishment to raise children. Instead, He uses a radical concept...parents.

[A decade ago] We had a ballot initiative here in California to set up a voucher system. The proponents of the initiative said they just wanted private and public schools to compete on a level playing field. But the proposal said that public schools had to hire certificated teachers and pay them the going rate, while private schools could hire -anyone- and pay them whatever they'd take. Public schools had to take the voucher amount alone but private schools could charge more than the voucher, whatever the parents could afford. And private schools could pick and choose among applicants while public schools had to take all comers. It was obvious to me that the real purpose of this plan was to establish a scale of schools, from c****y schools for working people to better schools for richer people, with public school being the bottom rung, the place for kids with learning problems and behavioral problems, etc.

My public education experience was really a very expensive form of child abuse. In the 1970's yet, it was 'drugs, sex, and rock-n-roll' with the newly minted teachers bringing and teaching the college party animal lifestyle to their students after hours. I've been gone from the high school scene now for over 40 years, and all I know about it is from the arrest of school teachers that appear every week ...

One big reason our country was so much better before the public school era, was because no one was taught the same. We had generations of free thinkers, and young people who learned in the one room school house, and the church. They grew under the close watch of their parents and preachers. And even the many who wanted to be "free" (which just means a freedom to sin) from cultural morality were carried along with Godly principles put down by our spiritual forefathers (Pilgrims, Puritans, etc)...
The millennials are totally gone, and the baby boomers trained the millennials to be the loosers they are. The only hope for this nation is a turning back to God, and it certainly won't be done unless the parents of today are willing to step up, get off the couch of self, and homeschool this next generation of children ...

Proverbs 1:8 "Listen, my son, to your father’s instruction, and do not forsake the teaching of your mother"

But what do we see today: parents try to find a 'good church' that has Sunday School and youth programs that their kids will like--if they are dull and boring, they will not take them there. Vacation Bible School is used as a tool to get parents into a church for this reason.
And, we see parents moving to areas where the (govt) schools are highly rated.

And this illustrates the strong 'Focus on the Family' that the Bible has, which can be seen in the chapter I cite here often, 1 Timothy 5, where we find there, 'God's Will for the Older Christian Woman.'
It is all part of a system; even James wrote that 'true religion consists of...helping the widow in her distress'

But what have we done? Isolated individuals who think they are part of the Body of Christ (the church) because they can espouse 'correct' beliefs, whether here or to someone in a coffee shop, or just to themselves while they are brushing and flossing their teeth.

In many states, public education is a waiting room for either, prison, addiction and poverty. Yet, it is not the structure you placed the child in, the parenting you provided. Small independent school districts are quite good, or as good as the teacher, the principal and board.
If you are not able to afford home schooling or Christian private schools, then be a parent and show up in the public education of your children.

Nothing new. There have been a plethora of voices saying this for years.

Truth be told, public education is still highly localized in many states. Not everyone has the time or money to homeschool. Christian private schools have their own sets of difficulties with high costs but can be a viable alternative. Not an easy answer. But we are blessed to be homeschoolers and grateful that the Lord has provided a means and a way ahead for us.
