A Christian doctor has been fired from his government position for saying he would decline a transgender person’s demand to use preferred pronouns.Dr. David Mackereth of the United Kingdom lost his contract with the Department of Work and Pensions as a disability benefits assessor after a manager posed a hypothetical conversation to him.
“If you have a man six foot tall with a beard who says he wants to be addressed as ‘she’ and ‘Mrs’, would you do that?” the manager asked.
Mackereth, 56 and a father of four, said he would decline the request, resulting in his firing.
