Mississippi gubernatorial candidate invokes 'Pence Rule'
A Mississippi Republican gubernatorial candidate on Thursday stood by his decision to deny a female reporter's request to accompany him on a campaign trip unless she brought along a male colleague, a move that she says amounts to "sexism."

"I didn't want to end up in a situation where me and Ms. Campbell were alone for an extended period of time throughout that 15- or 16-hour day, and so out of precaution, I wanted to have her bring someone with her -- a male colleague. The other thing I think it's important to point out is that this is my truck, and in my truck, we go by my rules and that's my rule," state Rep. Robert Foster told CNN's John Berman on "New Day."

Larrison Campbell, a reporter for Mississippi Today who was denied the hours-long interview by Foster, expressed frustration with the situation during the same CNN interview. ...

Real men don't use the word, "giggles".

I wasn't aware that hillbillys did either. Although, you're about four social classes below the hillbilly, so I'm not sure what they call you, exactly...Sillybilly? Cuckoobilly?

Just kidding around. I'll let you get back to widdling your new club so you can play whack-a-hillbilly with your fellow cavemates tonight.

Big applause to Diane for finding what the Bible has been saying for the longest time. Women ruling anywhere is a curse, as seen in the one God pronounces over his people in Isaiah 3:12. In the New Testament, we have Paul writing to Timothy and telling him in chapter 5 how women should be treated. The first application there is for widows, but in that context you can see how Paul draws up how a society should be ordered. Let's look at it: first, the church should be helping only widows in need. He tells men and women who have widows in their family to take care of those widows, not to ask the church to do it for them. He gives an age limit-over 60-for the widows the church should help. He says the younger widows should marry, bear children, guide the house. In the tenth verse, he gives how widows should be evaluated by the things they have been doing.
Study this chapter and you will find a biblical role for older women that is not being followed much today, not even in churches who say they believe in the Bible.

Right on, Lady Virtue!!! I never vote for a woman candidate. I don’t care how conservative she claims to be. Women are too emotional and should not be leaders in business or the political realm.

Jim, just for giggles why don’t you occasionally take the biblical side, rather than the lib side? A rhetorical question, of course. We all know that you are a liberal and not a Christian.

Good for Robert Foster. I'll have to send him a good-will gesture oppossum burger...

I think all men should avoid being alone with any woman other than his wife, at all times.

It's not really a question if it's the safer model or not. It's a matter of avoiding the chance of a lifelong stain that was thrown on you, vs being safe...

And this is not an issue of the "Me too" movement either. The things Rep Foster is trying to avoid have been happening for the history of the world. Just go ask Joseph if he would have liked to avoided the confrontation with Potiphar's wife...

I would certainly do the same thing if I was in his position 👍

John of UK, this fellow is the one running for Governor, he should provide the chaperone❗ wrote:
In her own Twitter thread, Campbell said Mr Foster's "rule" was about sexism, not self-protection.

"See, most folks, when they see a man in a work setting … assume that the man is there to work, not sleep with the person they're next to. That's because to most people, men are people first, not sexual objects," she wrote.

"Women don't get the same courtesy. The 'appearance of impropriety' arises only when you see a reporter, not as a reporter, but as a sexual object.

"I wanted to cover Foster because I love my job. His campaign refused my request because they sexualised me. How's that not sexism?"

excerpt from, "US politician refuses to be alone with female reporter for fear of extramarital affair rumours"

There's no reason that this reporter should have to provide a chaperone, the fellow running for governor could have one of his aides be there, or depending on his wife's schedule she could be there❗👍

Excellent commentary there, LV. Paul's letters to Timothy and the Thessalonians have a lot of excellent guidelines for women to follow. And, turning to the Old Testament, we find God's curse on Israel, spelled out in Isaiah 3:12, where children oppress my people and women rule.
Anytime you see women ruling in business, politics, etc. you are seeing an example of this curse in action.

As for the female reporter, her accusation of sexism is both silly and foolish. If women were about God's business of being keepers at home and guiding the house, so many of these situations could be avoided. Women can cause much trouble when they insist on occupying male domains {the work force, the military, politics, etc.}.
What a great comment sister and of course I agree with you fully. A feminist will not possibly be able to see the truth and will only see sexism.

In her mind, if he hits on her, he is guilty and not her. If she hits on him and he caves into it, it was once again his fault and not hers.

And, like most feminists, if she claims something was said or done by him in private, then his career is ended and her's is simply strengthened. I don't know anything about this fellow's moral standing, but he is correct on this issue.

Sister, you don't have to agree with anything I have said, because I know we are still on the same page. Just an old man rambling.
