Teen Vogue is pushing the idea that prostitution is acceptable to its young readers.
In a Friday op-ed called "Why Sex is Real Work," Tlaleng Mofokeng, a medical doctor, noted that sex tourist destination Amsterdam will soon legally bar guided tours through the red light district but that many "sex workers," — a euphemism for prostituted persons but is often used to include brothel keepers and pornographers — are opposing the ban.
"Not all sex workers engage in penetrative sex, though, undeniably, that is a big part of sex work. Sex-worker services between consenting adults may include companionship, intimacy, nonsexual role playing, dancing, escorting, and stripping. These roles are often pre-determined, and all parties should be comfortable with them," she explained....

Pilgrim, I figured that's what you meant, but I had a hard time putting the words together also. It's not an expression that is used very much these days, but I believe most people would understand if it was used.

There can be no doubt that the verb 'prostitute' can refer to more than the usual. There are some references in the Bible, for example to go 'a whoring'. We might prefer the term committing 'spiritual adultery'.
But for sure, anyone seeking financial gain through a specific unworthy method, that is, unworthy of respect, can be described as prostituting himself or herself, as the dictionaries describe it as a secondary meaning of the word.

True story! We just came back from a neighborhood walmart. In the parking lot, a woman with a thong bathing suit was standing behind her vehicle with a male. Her whole butt was sticking out. Very immodest, but definitely not prostitution.
Frank, if every woman who is motivated at least in part by the prospect of financial security in her selection of a husband thereby becomes a whore, then I daresay that takes in almost every woman who has ever been married. Thanks Frank for your answer. On men being modest I would say that our bodies are said to be temples of God and all should live in all areas point men to Christ and not to draw needless attention to ourselves. No verses that specifically address it as there is for women

I also understand the legal definition of prostitution; selling sex for money. This was not meant to be legal!
Here is my reasoning. Let’s say a woman has a job and if she sleeps with her boss, because she can get a promotion. The promotion relates to money that she will receive. So, was sleeping with her boss to get more money a form of legal prostitution? Now what if a woman doesn’t love a man who is rich, but she has a chance to marry him because of his wealth. If she does that because he has money and she will have access to it, is that not a form of legal prostitution? Now there are bars, wing houses, strip clubs etc. in my area where women work and they dress very skimpily. They do that because they will get paid to show their bodies. I consider this also to be a form of prostitution, but I think someone can disagree with this last one.
Which scripture are you using to show that modesty applies to men? I know there are men prostitutes, but do you think they are so common that you would find it necessary to say “and men”? If you find one that “might” relate to men; I can find 20 that definitely relates to women.
