Turning 2020 Into a Battle About God and Gays?
Indiana mayor and possible 2020 Democratic presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg (pronounced Boot-uh- jij ) took a swipe at Vice President Mike Pence Sunday for his outspoken support of Biblical marriage.

Buttigieg, who is openly gay, told NBC News that his marriage to schoolteacher Chasten Buttigieg made him a better person. "And yes, Mr. Vice President, it has moved me closer to God," he said.

The vice president and his wife, Karen Pence, hold biblical views of marriage – a conviction that has been publicly scorned by the Left. Earlier this year, the second lady was criticized for teaching art at a Christian school that requires both students and faculty to affirm their adherence to biblical guidelines about sex. ...

The wrath of God.....

Nahum 1:2 God is jealous, and the LORD revengeth; the LORD revengeth, and is furious; the LORD will take vengeance on his adversaries, and he reserveth wrath for his enemies.

3 The LORD is slow to anger, and great in power, and will not at all acquit the wicked: the LORD hath his way in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of his feet.

4 He rebuketh the sea, and maketh it dry, and drieth up all the rivers: Bashan languisheth, and Carmel, and the flower of Lebanon languisheth.

5 The mountains quake at him, and the hills melt, and the earth is burned at his presence, yea, the world, and all that dwell therein.

6 Who can stand before his indignation? and who can abide in the fierceness of his anger? his fury is poured out like fire, and the rocks are thrown down by him.

7 The LORD is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him.

8 But with an overrunning flood he will make an utter end of the place thereof, and darkness shall pursue his enemies.

Instead of the generic cloudy terminology you seem fond of, how about a specific list of the things he has done as president that you disapprove of?

Jim; The American public voted & they choose Trump over Hillary get over it, as she lost.

Regardless who is in the White House, or in Congress their is No King but Christ Alone!

Instead of worrying about President Trump, you should be far more worried about your own soul. In knowing one day, that your life & soul will be unexpectedly taken from you. As you will be held accountable & responsible for your own sin, no pleading of second chances hope after mortality!

NeedHim, one can really ask when there were many more acceptable Republican candidates in 2016 than Mr. Turmp, who would have picked conservative Supreme Court justices etc. and didn't have the well-known disadvantages of Mr. Trump, why didn''t the Evangelicals pick one of them?

I have thought much and have written much on Romans 7.
I've no doubt that would be a very detailed study, Frank. I've come into it rather late in the day, but it is rewarding to know the truth about our state and why certain things happen. Even better to know our standing (with God) which always remains the same from the moment of justification. I suppose I've focussed more on this aspect because of my earnest desire to see souls saved, and what that means for saved sinners.

Romans 7 isn't the only passage of scripture that had been a puzzlement to me for so long. There are others.

It is only in the last couple of years that I have seen and grasped this whole business of the dual nature of the Christian, which causes him so much grief day in day out, compared to the single nature of the unregenerate, wherein lies no conflict, but continually sinning and delighting to do so.
For decades I would not have Romans 7 as descriptive of a Christian man - even Paul - rather I saw it as a sort of Before/After experience.
But now I see the old nature, the old man, not as dead, buried and gone for ever, never to be seen in this life again; but rather something to be mortified daily, brought into subjection; increasingly sanctified by God's grace and putting on Christ, walking in the Spirit, living in obedience, continually penitent, waging the warfare between spirit and flesh.

If we are perceived to be a laughing stock, maybe there is too much concern for what the world thinks. When others lead the way in taking the high road, only then they can lead, or laugh, as they see fit.

Thanks brother, and at this point, you're right. My thoughts on that have expired, I guess, at this point in the game. I was thinking more of when it all got started, and everything was new. I used to think about how the rest of the world, looking in at all of the nonsense, must have thought we'd gone mad. Now, not so much, I guess, because the infection has spread like a plague. Thanks for the correction.

While I wouldn't say that the people, themselves, of any party are less wicked or sinful, because we're all desperately wicked, and our righteousness is as a filthy rag to The Perfect One, but there is a stark difference between party lines, and very good reason for the conflict, and the national war that rages. I wouldn't say we're a laughing stock due to the conflict, but I would say that we're a laughing stock due to the weakening, dumbing down, and the gender chaos that this new age of political correctness, tolerance, and diversity have caused. We must look like a joke to those looking in with all that's going on with the gender nonsense, but the new liberal mindset ain't no joke, and there's good reason to be waging war against their madness.

I dont hold Trump, or a political party on any, they can do no wrong, pedestal, but there's a very clear dividing line, and very clear reasons for standing alongside them to fight against a party who, among other things, is trying to commit genocide against The Living God, and take down the moral fabric of a great nation. There is a lesser of two evils here, and it's not so much the people, but, their wicked agendas.

So true, no political parties in heaven, praise God. Also no political party do we put our trust in as our eyes look unto the Lord from whence cometh our help and we put no confidence in man

Yet in our pilgrimage here in our country political parties are a reality with with which we have to deal. If we are to live a life as commanded in Scripture in quietness and peace in all godliness and honesty then which party and which candidate is in office matters. Who would have thought sodomite marriage would be “the law” of the land 10 years ago but it is a reality today due to the policy’s of the party and candidate in power.

Atanael- you are correct. We are played like a fiddle by the media in this country and we are in a position that we will take any bones thrown to us.
It is good to try to support that which is moral but we tend to elevate anyone who is not as bad as their "opponent".
We must be a laughing stock to others with our "liberal vs. conservative war".
It isn't flesh and blood with which we wrestle, but one would never know it.
Many, as the media would have it, paint one group as good and the other as bad.
Of course, we know that there are no political parties in Heaven.

Wow that earned 6 Pinocchio 's from the Washington Post!!! It is the first time they used that many on just one quote

Got to stop believing everything you hear over there across the pond, Atanael, there are very few Christians who don't wish President Trump was saved and lived a godly life. You need to consider the words of just thinking and note his policies while not perfect are far more moral than his predecessor or that of his opponent.

This is a schtick. This guy is trying to trap Pence. Tryna get VP to take the bait and question his testimony and say he isn't close to God because he is a Sodomite (I noticed he addressed VP and not Mr. Trump). Then the media jumps all over VP from local news to Fox and CNN. This is lame. If I were VP I would ignore every reference the dude makes of God and go right for his policies and record which I am sure is socialist.

You may have to specify what bad moral and behavioral attitude he has displayed as president. One does not have to follow him blindly or fanatically to support some of the things he's trying to do. Frankly, from what I've seen, it's those who oppose anything and everything he does, (and everything they have manufactured that he does) that are the blind fanatics. And no, they aren't counter attacking anything, since from day 1 they have initiated and have been on the attack aggressively.
