Congress to get 1st Muslim woman

Former Michigan state Rep. Rashida Tlaib has won the Democratic nomination to run unopposed for the House seat long held by former Rep. John Conyers, setting her up to become the first Muslim woman elected to Congress.

"This is a huge victory for the Arab and Muslim American communities — it's also a huge victory for the city of Detroit," said Sally Howell, director of the Center for Arab American Studies at the University of Michigan-Dearborn. "Rashida Tlaib brings forward the legacy of John Conyers in terms of the groundbreaking role he played in Congress and his commitment to civil rights." ...

Hi Neil;
Good points. I agree with quote, 'deadbeat Europe' and the US subsidizing various other nations.

If the US stopped all this then Russia and China could step in to gain friends and influence people.

Perhaps this might eventually provide the US with bigger headaches?

But the Democrats would be really happy with their new views on socialism(communism)!!

Since 1948 or so, American Christians have been bullied by Dispy pastors and foreign-interventionsts into subsidizing Israel by fallacious misapplication of Gen. 12:3. You do not become someone's enemy just because you refuse to play their Sugar Daddy. In other contexts, it would be called Tough Love.

Oh Look! America will be 'changing' its politics and foreign aid principles?????

"Rashida Tlaib, the soon-to-be first Muslim congresswoman in the United States, said that she would "absolutely" vote against military aid for Israel when questioned during an interview on Britian's Channel 4 News on Monday.

"Absolutely, if it has something to do with inequality and not access to people having justice. For me US aid should be leverage," said Tlaib.

I will be using my position in congress so that no country, not one, should be able to get aid from the US," she continued. "When they still promote that kind of injustice."

Tlaib also compared the Arab-Israeli conflict with the civil rights movement in Detroit."
(Jerusalem Post)

Democrats will just love her!!!

And this is all the proof a Muslim non-believer dead in their trespasses and sins needs to continue to justify their rejection of Christ and perpetuate the idea that Christians are nothing but close-minded bigots who can barely be heard above the scrapping of their own knuckles as they drag them behind themselves. Do you know "all" Muslims to make such a universal statement and therefore condemn a whole segment of humanity? And even if they were, do you want them all to die and burn forever in eternal hell according to what the Scriptures teach, and are you not willing to take up your cross and suffer for the cause of Christ so that Muslims may be saved? Do you even begin to understand the basic tenets of the Islamic faith and the main Islamic traditions in the world today before you spew your ignorant, vile, anti-Christian comments? Seriously, do you have incontrovertible proof that "all" Muslims are advocates of Sharia law?? Where is this proof? Where is the basis for you irrational hatred?
The Koran commands all Muslims to advocate for Sharia law and commands all Muslims to kill the infidels, who according to the Koran are Jews, Christians and all other non Muslims.

Here in UK there is quite a furor over the politician Boris Johnson who likened the muslim women who wear the niqab or burqa - full face covering - to a letter box.

But surely what we are dealing with here in western culture is women's rights.

Why should women be forced to wear a black bag over their face?

Beauty and femininity are revealed to the world by the women and make-up enhances this fact in western culture.
Therefore it is robbing the woman of her female nature and her rights to be open and manifesting her natural personality and attractiveness.

As for "religion" ???
GOD created the women with her natural female beauty and attractiveness, charm, allure and dignity as a woman.
No man should be allowed in any culture to cover God's creation with a black bag over her head.

Islam demonstrates its demonic illusions. And rejects God's creation.

Psalm 139:14 I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well."

Song of Sol. 4:7 Thou art all fair, my love; there is no spot in thee."

Est 2:7 And he brought up Hadassah, that is, Esther, his uncle's daughter: for she had neither father nor mother, and the maid was fair and beautiful;"

Mike, reread my questions. Their silence is deafening. The burden of proof lies with you to find large numbers who fit the bill of your assertions Maybe you could link to a video showing Muslims protesting or speaking against Sharia law in Dearborn Michigan or explain why Muslims want Sharia law in the UK.

So let me see if I can summarize your posts accurately, Mike. You're saying we should invite our Muslim neighbors over for a couple of brewskis, throw on a little Black Sabbath, and then proclaim the gospel to them in the power of the Holy Spirit (who of course is not grieved at all by the booze on our breath or the jungle beat emanating from our stereo speakers). That about sum it up? BTW, how's that been working out for you so far? Are you seeing a lot of them turning from Mohammed to Christ?

So much for being done in the subject Mike. Jon Yurich can defend his own comments. I did not address his comment, but yours. Muslims are judged by their actions. History as well as today bears out what they are about. The goofy Westerners carry water for them and are good Apologists for them. Please witness to them and pray for their salvation. It's Christ like to pray for the salvation of the lost, but stop with the emotional nonsense and foolishness.

Well, there are individuals who have debated Dr. James White who would gladly stand against hateful, bloodthirsty Muslims like that, and they are not alone. But it's easy for us to criticize from quasi-comfortable Western civilization; can you imagine how difficult it must be if you were a Muslim who eschewed the despicable tactics of the ones you rightly point out and lived in an area were those in charge would seek to destroy you or your family for standing against the bloodthirsty status quo? Btw, we could go back and forth in the "proof" wars all day long. Can YOU produce proof that they are all as you say? All is a pretty all-inclusive word and means just that; ALL. I find the claim incredibly bombastic and worthy of nothing more than fear-mongering and keeping the faithful to Jesus Christ afraid of witnessing to Muslims out of fear that they may be strict Sharia adherents. Let's keep our criticism clear and free from conspiracy theory claptrap; Islam is an inconsistent religion that misunderstands the Trinity, misunderstands the OT/NT, and misunderstands salvation by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone. We do not wage war as the world does, but through prayer and the power of the Spirit through the faithful proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ!

are the Muslims protesting implementation of Sharia law? Are the Muslims protesting the violence of its adherents? Are the Muslims denouncing the death to America chants from Iran? Are the Muslims saying we don’t believe Israel should be wiped off the map?

You insist they don’t all think alike, where’s your proof?

Nice try, but I was specifically talking about how you refused to answer the witnessing questions earlier in seemingly defending the comments from the man earlier who seemed to write them all off. I am talking about YOU and those like yourself, not Christians you have given their lives for the cause of Christ in Islamic nations, so don't do that to me or anyone else who refuses to buy this "Never trust a Muslim" mantra, it's offensive and insulting and I don't appreciate you accusing me of besmirching them. Thank you for finally answering that you have witnessed, and I hope your message comes across clearly and that is encouraging. I don't deny anything you are saying, for it is basically Islamic doctrine concerning their rejection of Christ. It amazes me that you didn't see that I asserted your attitude will HELP them to JUSTIFY their rejection; of course they reject on their own! My point is by seemingly lumping all Muslims together as extremist Sharia-loving individuals I believe you are hurting not helping the cause of Christ among them. Unless I misunderstood your stance I have nothing further to say about this. I believe each Muslim should be judged as we would want to be judged, on our own merits, and not fear-mongering.

I have witnessed so that question is answered. My comments don't hurt Christ is Muslim eyes. They reject Christ because the Koran tells them to. The Koran calls Christ Issa and say he is not the son of Allah and that he did not die on the cross and it vehemently condemns anyone who does. It also denies Christ's death on the cross. So as far as Muslims are concerned Allah has spoken. Muhammad knew who Christ was and gave his version. So please stop saying such nonsense and besmirching Believers especially those who have lost their lives at the hands of Muslims because they would not deny Christ.

Well, I am emotional about it, and please forgive me for being so, but I grow incredibly weary of Christians seemingly casting off Muslims as being unworthy of the kingdom of God and they themselves not willing to witness to them due to fear, hatred, ignorance, or some unholy conglomeration of the three. I think comments like the previous gentleman and yours hurt the cause of Christ among the Islamic community and are more at home with some of the religious extremists and terrorists you so decry. You haven't answered my questions about witnessing to them, I provided real dialogue about what I know of the Qur'an and the Hadith literature, and you have dismissed them by refusing to engage my points. So are you saying all Islamic interpretations of Sharia are the same among all Muslims? So you're saying ALL Muslims want to destroy American law and jurisprudence then, and you have evidence of this? How have I bypassed the reality of Islam? I mentioned how there are many who interpret Sharia in ways that are in contradiction and opposition to our way of life, but yet you fail to engage any of the points I've made. Respectfully, the astounding dodging and ignorance is your own. Should we witness to Muslims? Are all Muslims militant Sharia promoters? Will this woman promote Sharia?

Mike, your post is filled with emotion and bypasses the reality of Islam. Not even addressing the real issue. Islam is not compatible with the US Constitution and to be a Muslim requires adherence to Islamic Sharia. The US Constitution does not conflict with Christianity since it is based on Judeo-Christian ethics. I can it follow it because of that reason.

Adriel, the problem right now are the so-called Republicans and I seriously doubt there's a Christian among them. If there is they are certainly in the minority in Congress❗
George Will wrote:

In today's GOP, which is the president's plaything, he is the mainstream. So, to vote against his party's cowering congressional caucuses is to affirm the nation's honor while quarantining him.

Democratic-controlled Congress would be a basket of deplorables, but there would be enough Republicans to gum up the Senate's machinery, keeping the institution as peripheral as it has been under their control,...

You do know that in Islam it is not only the Qur'an that is quoted but other hadith that are cited as authoritative and the lens through which the Qu'ran is translated (ranging from sahih, hasan, daif, and mawdu, with Sahih being the most reliable, ala Sahih Al-Bukhari), so to just say go with the Qur'an is a bit of a misnomer. It's like having a Mormon only read the book of Mormon without consulting the Doctrines and Covenants and Pearl of Great Price. There are troubling parts of the Qur'an and I would say it is disqualified on the basis of its inconsistency (different Islamic traditions will apply those passages differently and many, yes, will apply them violently, but others will not). Have you had one translated from Arabic? I know what Sharia means, thank you, and I am fully aware that Muslim majority countries following certain Islamic traditions (non-western) are oppressive at the best. But this still does nothing to answer the logical fallacies of saying ALL Muslims would support Saudi-style Sharia, or that they all agree on what constitutes Sharia or how it should be carried out. Western Muslims are not the same as Mid-Eastern, generally speaking, and typically are much more moderate. Also, ALL Muslims are demon possessed? Would any of you reach out to them to witness?

""Rashida Tlaib has won the Democratic nomination to run unopposed for the House seat long held by former Rep....""

Aaahh the Democrats again!!

If Hillary can get in why not a muslim?

With Socialism and Liberalism running the policies of the Democrats then America will get a huge selection of foreign culture influences in the years to come.

Socialists and Liberalists believe in relativism. That is how they get rid of the cumbersome influence of traditional moral standards and ethics.

Why in years to come the Democrats will provide 'rights' to all comers to change, modify, transmogrify??? the culture, laws and philosophy of America. As for religion? well anything goes!!

Sharia is one of the least of America's worries. Look around the world and observe the many and varied if not weird philosophies available to politicians who will do anything for a vote.

How about Chinese communism? How about Canadian Liberalism? How about a swift dose of anarchy? Or North Korea has an unusual way of doing government? In the UK the maxim of all parties is "The rich get richer - and the poor get stuffed." or NAZI politics? or Fascism? or Autocracy? Big Brother Democrat? The return of Obama with increased powers? Bureaucracy - Oh you already have loads of that!!

Mike get a Koran and read it. A real one & have it translated into English from Arabic from a reliable source. By the way, Sharia means law. So say in sharia law is saying law law. Also, checkout and provide us an example of a nation where Islam dominates and there is peace. Woman are equal, children are protected, and other religions are tolerated.
