Netanyahu thanks Trump for keeping promises, moving embassy to Jerusalem
Sixty-nine years after Israel declared Jerusalem as its capital, and 23 years after the US Congress passed a law mandating that Washington move its embassy there, the US formally opened its embassy in the city on Monday afternoon, in a move Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called "courageous" and "momentous."

"What a glorious day. Remember this moment!" Netanyahu entreated the applauding crowd. "President Trump, by recognizing history, you have made history. All of us are deeply moved. All of us are deeply grateful." ...

Two hours ahead of the inauguration of his country’s embassy in Jerusalem, outgoing Paraguayan President Horacio Cartes met with President Reuven Rivlin, and assured him that he will visit Israel “much more often” after the expiration of his term in August.

Paraguay officially moved its country’s embassy to Jerusalem on Monday, the third such move within the space of a week after the US move last Monday and Guatemala’s on Wednesday.

It is also the second embassy, after Guatemala’s, to move into the Malcha Technology Park, which may well evolve into the capital’s embassy row....

Some comments on other things might get people worked up.
PBS News Hour wrote:
...David Brooks:

Well, on the merits, I think it’s the right move. Jerusalem is the capital of Israel. I don’t think we need to lie about that.

That’s where the Knesset is. That’s where the prime minister lives. It’s the capital of Israel. And every nation gets to pick where their capital is. It doesn’t buy us any future negotiations, because everything is going to be in West Jerusalem, which is always going to be Israel.

Presumably, we’re going to get a two-state solution. Whenever that comes, the Palestinian capital will be in East Jerusalem. And they will split the city some way.

So, I don’t think it biases moves that way. So, I think it’s just an honest statement of where the capital is and we should be unashamed of that.

As for the Hagee thing, that was absurd, the Adelson thing. I agree they did it in the worst possible way. They could have gotten some concessions out of the Israelis on settlements and other things in exchange for this move. They didn’t even try to do that....

And as many as walk according to this rule, peace be on them, and mercy, and upon the Israel of God. Galatians 6:16

Israel of God—not the Israel after the flesh, among whom those teachers wish to enrol you; but the spiritual seed of Abraham by faith (Ga 3:9, 29; Ro 2:28, 29; Php 3:3).
Jamieson-Fausset-Brown Bible Commentary

These, he declares, shall be the portion of all the Israel of God, by whom he means all sincere Christians, whether Jews or Gentiles, all who are Israelites indeed, who, though they may not be the natural, yet are become the spiritual seed of Abraham; these, being heirs of his faith, are also heirs together with him of the same promise, and consequently entitled to the peace and mercy here spoken of. Pray for the peace of Jerusalem. Those who love you will prosper. Peace be within your walls, and prosperity within your palaces. For my brothers’ and companions’ sakes, I will now say, “Peace be within you.” For the sake of the house of Yahweh our God, I will seek your good.

...Just as Guatemala followed the United States in May 1948 and was the second country to recognize Israel, it became the second state after the US on Wednesday to open its embassy in Jerusalem....

... Guatemalan President Jimmy Morales, who arrived on Tuesday to take part in the ceremony, underlined in his comments not only the strength of ties between his country and Israel, but also a trilateral relationship with the US. One of the various reasons that have been given for Guatemala’s decision to open the embassy has to do with its desire to strengthen its ties with the US and take a step that will be looked upon favorably by President Donald Trump.

Morales noted that Guatemala, Israel and the US are “three friends that share friendship, courage and loyalty.”...

... Another Latin American country, Paraguay, is scheduled to open its embassy in Jerusalem next week, and Guatemala’s neighbor, Honduras, is expected to announce in a number of weeks that it will be doing the same....

Here's some advice for you penned, from Martyn Lloyd Jones...

"There is nothing so tragic, I sometimes think, in certain circles as the way in which men fail to differentiate between that which is of the essence of the faith and certain other matters about which there can be no certainty. You cannot, I am told, be a member of the World Fundamentalist Association unless you believe in the “pre-millennial” return of our Lord and if you happen to be a “post-millenarian” you cannot be a Christian! If you are an “a-millenarian” you are just unspeakable.
Who can decide who is right, whether those who hold the pre-millennial, or those who hold the post-millennial view? I could mention great names on both sides, equally expert theologians.
Surely these are matters where there can be a legitimate difference of opinion. Let us bear in mind the adage: “In essentials, unity; in non-essentials, liberty; in all things, charity.” “Stand fast in the faith.” Yes, but in a spirit of love. MLJ, from 'the Christian in an age of terror, pg 264

perfect.

now it will be in "spiritual sodom" (Rev 11:8) ,

just as prophecy says,

there will be a great falling away (2thess 2:3 is claimed by dispensationalists to be their rapture so they are expecting to be the great apostasy)... and then comes the antichrist.

we really couldn't do it without their help, building a kingdom that Christ never spoke of.... except to say, every stone of this will fall, den of vipers, things like that....

too bad all that ISIS stuff had to be done to destabilize syria and all those Christians got beheaded, but after all, we are about fulfilling prophecy here in america, especially greater land deals, and especially rev 20 or other scriptures of the martyrs rolling into heaven.

so great to see prophecy, and what are a few 10,000 Christians in the run of things?

only a parenthesis after all, even though revelations is about their travails..

...indeed their Heavenly Father sees who suffers for the Kingdom and who builds false babylon..

it is "just eschatology" after all.

a few million casualties are nothing when you are talking about the span of eternity.

The last article that I put up from the Jerusalem Post really gives a wrong impression of Christian Zionism

Thomas Ice wrote:
....Dispensational theology explains why this form of premillennialism has been the most effective in evangelizing Jews, while at the same time standing with Jews in causes like Zionism. In fact, dispensationalists were the earliest advocates of Zionism, even before it began within the Jewish community. " Zionism humanly speaking owes its origin not primarily in the Jewish fold, but in the efforts of a Christian, one whom we all respect, and who has been a great friend of Jewish Missions, William E. Blackstone." [14] Benjamin Netanyahu also recognizes the early rise of Christian Zionism when he declared that it " antedates the modern Zionist movement by at least half a century." [15]

Blackstone' s contribution was acknowledged by the Jewish community in 1918 by Elisha M. Friedman, secretary of the University Zionist Society of New York, who said, " A well-known Christian layman, William E. Blackstone, antedated Theodor Herzl by five years in his advocacy of the re-establishment of a Jewish state."....

Tim, there are sins just as bad as the moral ones that you point out and I'm not dismissing as being evil. A couple of verses point out there's quite a list of sins that people have that mean they are not Christians some of which are bosom sins to political conservatives, to wit:

1 Corinthians 6:9-10
Or don’t you know that the unrighteous will not inherit God’s Kingdom? Don’t be deceived. Neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor male prostitutes, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor slanderers, nor extortionists, will inherit God’s Kingdom.

There's no room for racism in Christianity either

Randall Balmer wrote:
"....In the 19th and early 20th centuries, evangelicals took the part of those on the margins of society — women, the poor, workers, people of color. The 2016 election, coupled with the religious right's anemic response to racism and white supremacy, suggests that this once proud and noble tradition is morally bankrupt."

Jim, people don't get saved by believing in the "five solas," the four seasons, or the Three Musketeers. They get saved by believing in Jesus. And I didn't say a word about people's political background determining whether or not they go to hell; in fact just the opposite. But the fact remains that most people who do get saved will become more conservative, and that liberalism itself, with its acceptance of sodomy and advocacy of abortion, among other things, indicates that one is almost certainly not saved. If I may give a personal testimony, I was an ultra liberal before I got saved, but it didn't take long to see that the Word of God was opposed to almost every major tenet of liberalism. If you ever get saved, Jim, God will begin to open your blind eyes as well.

The US Embassy move from Tel-Aviv, where it has been since 1948, and White House
recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital stands as a huge diplomatic achievement for the
State of Israel. It’s also reasonable to think that Jewish leadership in the United States
helped advocate for this day.

But this historic turning point in Israeli history could also not have taken place without the
critical involvement of another group – evangelical Christians in America....

... In essence, steadfast support of Israel by the evangelical Christian community ensures, more
than anything, the promotion and the safeguarding of Israeli interests and Israel’s
emergence as a world power....

Tim, while I care that people who do not believe in the 5 Solas are condemned to the Lake of Fire I can guarantee you no matter what a person's background being liberal or conservative has nothing to do with it if he doesn't believe ]] http://tinyurl.com/guqmzv6 (What are the “five solas,” and what do they mean?).

An Orthodox rabbi could have represented the United States at this particular occasion rather than notorious pastors, who not only have the right the duty to speak out about Christianity at other occasionsâť—đź‘Ž They don't belong in a political event representing United States. In many instances they don't even represent Christianity that well at other places

""President Trump, by recognizing history, you have made history. All of us are deeply moved. All of us are deeply grateful.""

Donald is certainly making his mark on the world. Instead of being politically correct like the Clinton's and the Obama's he is being politically INcorrect and non-conformist.

What a breath of fresh air in the White House.

Politicians have become dry, dusty, boring and irrelevant......
What they really needed was a 'Donald.'

Romans 13:1 Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God."
