Anglican Bishops: LGBT people should be encouraged into church leadership
GBT people should be encouraged into church leadership and not face awkward questions about their sexual relationships, clergy are being told.
In a letter praising 'the great contribution that LGBT+ Christians are making', four bishops in Lichfield are urging clergy to take a different approach to welcoming gay people.
'We wish to affirm that LGBT+ people can be called to roles of leadership and service in the local church,' the new guidance issued to Anglican ministers in Lichfield said. 'Nobody should be told that their sexual or gender identity in itself makes them an unsuitable candidate for leadership in the Church.'
It added: 'Intrusive questioning about someone's sexual practices or desires, or their experience of gender, is almost always inappropriate. It is also unacceptable to tell or insinuate to people that sexual orientation or gender identity will be changed by faith, or that...
It seems God loves sodomites as well, according to the 'pope', see the link in a previous comment.
This is what happens when you take only ONE attribute of God and trot it out in an attempt to apply it to the unregenerate. God is thrice holy, righteous and detests ALL sin. To claim God loves you in your sinful state and that He made you that way is blasphemy.

He just told that community, the world over, that they in fact won't be judged, and furthermore, the reason they won't face judgement is because God made them that way, and loves them just the way they are? Sickening. Bottomline is that they are responsible for knowing the truth, which is available to every single human being on planet Earth. Yet, because they don't like that truth, even though it comes from God Himself, they take comfort in, and allow a mere man to trump God Almighty, even when it has to do with where they will spend eternity. I just don't get it, and how anyone here can associate with such a wicked, blasphemous, idolatrous system of religion based upon nothing but lies, is beyond me.
More and more we are finding "tares" among the wheat.
Only the Gospel of God's dear son will save. Every Christian should be equipped with the truth of the Gospel so that they can tell it to others. It alone has the power to save.
Well said Christopher. Tim Keller of the Gospel Coalition is another compromiser when it comes to homosexuality. Sam Allberry, the editor, is an open homosexual as well as an open speaker for Ravi Zacharias - https://www.thegospelcoalition.org/about/staff/ "I first learned of the conference when a friend pointed it out to me in the event section of the UK ‚ÄúGay Christian‚ÄĚ group ‚ÄúLiving Out‚ÄĚ which has used a slightly less forceful narrative in years past but toward the same end ‚Äď making safe spaces for LGBT persons in the Church. Tim Keller will be speaking on ‚ÄúIdentity‚ÄĚ at the Living Out Conference in London this summer and his ‚ÄúSSA Gay Christian‚ÄĚ editor at The Gospel Coalition, Sam Allberry, is spreading the word about both conferences on social media." from https://watch.pairsite.com/lgbtq-seminaries-producing-lgbtq-activists.html Also see http://www.livingout.org/who-we-are - from that link, "Sam is a pastor based at St Mary's Church in Maidenhead UK. He is a speaker for Ravi Zacharias International Ministries, an editor for The Gospel Coalition, and the author of Is God Anti-Gay?"

Penned can't and she knows she can't, she's dodging questions and doesn't seem to care if she slanders people. Penned, I want you to answer the simple question: am I engaging in idolatry by taking pills, having a device put in me, etc?
We know the answer, well, if you're consistent you'll say, "Yes Connor, you are engaging in idolatry." In fact, I think anyone who gets shots would also be engaging in idolatry if you are consistent.
I like it when penne said, "emotional response" because, that just shows that she continues to make assertions but simply can not back up those assertions. Penned, I don't know if you're listening to too much Alex Jones or something, but you are wondering off into zaniness.
you still have not shown how Edwards getting a small pox vaccine of some sort is considered idolatry. From Webster's 1828 edition - IDOL'ATRY, noun [Latin idololatria. Gr. idol, and to worship or serve.]
1. The worship of idols, images, or any thing made by hands, or which is not God.
Idolatry is of two kinds; the worship of images, statues, pictures, etc. made by hands; and the worship of the heavenly bodies, the sun, moon and stars, or of demons, angels, men and animals.
2. Excessive attachment or veneration for any thing, or that which borders on adoration.
Worship - The homage paid to idols or false gods by pagans; To adore; to pay divine honors to; to reverence with supreme respect and veneration.
Now, can you explain how it is Edwards is an idolater?

Hey Brother! I only have a moment, but I just wanted to say that when someone joins the military, they will receive a series of shots or they won't be allowed to serve. If someone in the military goes to Asia, then they receive an additional series of vaccines.
When we go outside and breathe the air, then we are polluting our bodies. When we eat processed food, there are pollutants there.

How does taking a medical procedure make one an idolater?
Dr Tim Wote: "A couple of weeks ago I stepped on a tack, so I went to the ER to get a tetanus booster..."
Hmmm, now let's see...what does a mountain hillbilly really mean when he claims he went to the ER? Translation: His neighbors in the cardboard box next door found him hiding in a bush and blubbering. He tells them he stepped on a tack while chasing his pet beetle. His neighbors, in a panic, summon the village hillbilly healer, whose name is Bob, and his emotional support donkey, whose name is also, Bob. Bob the hillbilly healer, orders the villagers to form a circle and throw pickles at the horribly injured, and still blubbering, Dr Tim. While the pickles are being hurled, violently, the village comedian is telling cousin, and yo momma is so ugly jokes to get poor Dr Tim to laugh convulsively while also being pelted at the same time. Why this madness? The point is? Well, mountain doctoring hasn't quite caught up with normal people ways, so it's believed that the impact from the pickles, along with the body convulsing from laughter will force any infection causing poison from the tack, back out the point of entry. This is mountain ER/triage. Poor hicks.
Last week, Bishop Arthur of St. Andrews Presbyterian Church died by refusing to get a shot for shingles. Bishop Arthur experienced 3 years in agonizing pain, but he said, "I refuse to make modern medicine my idol, some put their trust in shots, others in pills, but I shall trust in the Lord."
His son, Ulysses Grant, said, "I'm pretty sure this was a really bad idea, have you ever had shingles before? It is a nightmare and it hurts really bad...and he also didn't take his diabetes pills as well, I'm not sure how he lasted this long, but I tell you what, he was spiritually healthy."
Ulysses said that his father's last words were, "I have a bad feeling about this."
At publishing time, we discovered that many Christians around the world were saved by shots, medicine, etc. and that medical missionaries had been sent throughout the whole globe, ministering to the needy.
Penned, you are not making sense at all, in fact, your reasoning seems like what the Pharisees said regarding diseases and the like, that it was because of their sin (or their parents sin)
Let's try to apply this in a practical matter: I have epilepsy, I have had it for 15+ years and will probably have it for the rest of my life, now because I have epilepsy I have anti-epileptic pills (Banzel, Lamotrigine ER, and Briviact) I also have a VNS in my to help with the epilepsy as well, now would you say I'm making the pills and device an idol?
