Suicide machine draws crowds at Amsterdam funeral show
A controversial suicide pod that enables its occupant to kill themselves at a press of a button went on display at Amsterdam funeral show on Saturday.
Called the "Sarco", short for sarcophagus, the 3D-printed machine invented by Australian euthanasia activist Philip Nitschke and Dutch designer Alexander Bannink comes with a detachable coffin, mounted on a stand that contains a nitrogen canister.
"The person who wants to die presses the button and the capsule is filled with nitrogen. He or she will feel a bit dizzy but will then rapidly lose consciousness and die," said Nitschke, who has been dubbed "Dr Death" for his work to legalise euthanasia....

I do know that in "The Visitation", the good guys are Pentecostals, and speaking in tongues, spirit slaying, and other wacko stuff was approved of. There also is a semi-graphic sex scene in the book "The Oath", which I thought was very inappropriate, especially from a "Christian" claiming author.
Yeah, I remember that scene in the Oath, I wasn't impressed, even back then. Another thing I don't like is how writers like Peretti feel it necessary to fill their books with blood and gore and think nothing of it. I remember in Visitation, when the villain (who was masquerading as Jesus) was bleeding in that apartment after killing a cop. There were spirits in the room, and the whole scene just left me sick. Even to this day. What we read is supposed to be edifying to our minds and glorifying to God. He is also hooked up with a lot of New Age Christians. Just Google Frank Peretti and the New Age Movement.
He had quite the effect on me as a teenager, I can assure you.

My Own 2 cents wrote: Absolutely agree with you, Been Watching. Question: Would you recommend reading/listening to Frank Peretti works? I don't know much about the guy, so that's why I've aaked. I have read only four of hos adult novels and as a kid, I believe every single childs novel he wrote. I don't know which denomination he's apart of, or his doctrinal stance he takes, so that's pretty much why I ask. What's your take on Frank?
Personally I would not recommend them anymore. Before God saved me, I would definitely have recommended them. There's too much emphasis on angels, demons, taking authority over stuff in Jesus Name and the idea of prayer cover. In every book, he writes how the saints and the angels are weak until we start praying. Then we're strong!
I don't remember very reading about God's sovereignty or how God controls the events of our lives. It's always man is in control and through prayer and faith, we overcome the enemy's plans. This goes against scripture. I remember reading an article about this all once. Maybe someone can hunt it down. It explains it all better than I can.

That's the beauty of being able to read or even listen to his tales. You can calm it down as much as you need to, but if it's on TV, then you're stuck with the violence and gore. Hence why we like listening to stories rather than watching them. It's a built in safe-guard for our children's minds.

It's been the closest I've read to a horror novel. I seriously don't think Frank can write a book without it being bathed in blood. Same thing for "The Visitation".
I had all of his novels at one time. I also had his novels on tape as well. Freaky stuff! Imagine if he got his novels put into film?

There is plenty of sick, satanic, filthy government's in this world, who can for sure provide the testing materials!!! 😠 You can bet they have tried out plenty of people on it, they have a LUST for blood...especially innocent blood. Proverbs 8:36 But he that sinneth against me wrongeth his own soul: all they that hate me love death.

I do wonder what psychologist think of this, even if they thought is was a good idea, would they promote it? Because their money is made off of helping suicidal people...just a thought, it would be interesting to see the "majority thought" of this.

Being in woodworking, I was interested in Sawstop that came out a few years back. The inventor tested the saw's capacity to protect the users skin by first running a wiener into the blade and then he used his own finger. His saw worked perfectly. I wonder...would this inventor of the suicide machine be willing to run us through how it works by testing it himself first? How can we have any sort of confidence in his machine if he hasn't tested it first?
Once upon a time, the Dutch safe haven was God's provision to protecting the lives of the Reformers. While not Christian enough for some English separists, still it was a place where Protestants and particularly Puritans could live, work, study, and none their skills in exile. Fast forward 400 years and we find this. Did these people really throw off Spain's Philip II for this? Where is William of Orange?
