Russia responded angrily to a U.S.-led strike against Syria, warning of unspecified "consequences" that stoked fears the conflict could escalate.
President Donald Trump ordered targeted military action in the country late Friday, following an alleged chemical weapons attack that reportedly left dozens of citizens dead. In recent months, international efforts to broker a ceasefire and organize a humanitarian response to the country's crisis have faltered in the face of stiff opposition from both Russia and Syria.
Russia, which has backed the government of Syrian President Bashar Assad, has joined Damascus in denying an attack even took place — even though U.S. authorities have declared it did with near certainty. The dispute over Syria was the latest wedge between the West and Russia, which has been embroiled in multiple controversies with western governments....

Penny, the worst thing that probably could happen under these circumstances is that the serious consequences would be that Russia wouldn't aid Trump to get reelected like they help him get elected in 2012. The above also might be a possibility.
About the only good thing going for Trump is that he does support Israel.
Rock of Offence wrote: They have taken crafty counsel against Your people, and consulted together against Your sheltered ones. They have said, “Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation, that the name of Israel may be remembered no more. Psalm 83 is a prophecy about conditions that take place in the last days just before the Second Coming of Christ. Many students of Bible prophecy believe this Scripture is being fulfilled right now (Summer 2016). The leaders of Iran, Syria, Egypt and Hamas (a Palestinian terrorist organization seeking the destruction of Israel) have used (and are still using today) almost these exact same hate-filled words against the State of Israel. The people in this “confederacy” seek to destroy Israel once and for all.

if the US had to fall (they have open borders after all and are set for such)... if they were taken over by China or something, and all the CHristians of Syria wiped off the face of the earth...and the ottoman empire revivd throughout europe, no secular nation left..... would it be worth it to see Israel expand its borders, to get its Levant?
must it not be gotten at any cost?
and so I would ask our dispensational friends, what would YOU be willing to sacrifice personally for the rise of your kingdom that you can never be a part of?
your grandchildren fighting for/against/for al queda?
personally fund ISIS?
fund ADL coming into the classroom with transgender books?
isn't it worth every sacrifice you can give?
what's it worth to you?
would you give up your home?
your right arm?
how much is this really worth to you PERSONALLY? (not what you can get others to do for you)
what if you had to forgo your rapture to see the glory of the earthly Zion?
how about forgoing the New Jerusalem that comes down from heaven (not from earth)?
while we are at it, find a sunni friend and ask them the same of their end time fanaticism?
It was a very good war game, QC. As far as I can see there might have been couple of civilians injured in Homs. It appears that is even debatable. So as I said a very successful war game, when even joint military exercises can have some fatalities in them such as helicopters crashing and such. Everyone should be happy all the way around -- the Israelis might not be. They would like to see some more concrete results such as destruction of military aircraft and such.
This was nothing more than a military war game, fortunately, even with less casualties that many of war games have Everyone got to see the strengths and weaknesses of the other side. This should been a win-win for everyone--including the Russians!

The one-night show of force was not enough to shake Assad's grip on power. Despite Trump's bellicose threats last week, he made no attempt to decapitate the government in Damascus, or even to incapacitate its war-making ability....
