Socialism, Capitalism Seen in New Light by Younger Americans
John Della Volpe, who has been polling millennials for 17 years, stood before about 150 students in a gleaming new center at Elon University this fall in search of an answer.

In his 2016 survey for Harvard University’s Institute of Politics, 42% of younger Americans said they support capitalism, and only 19% identified themselves as capitalists. While this was a new question in his survey, the low percentage of young people embracing capitalism surprised him. He had come here, in part, to better understand why.

“Maybe it had to do with the ‘American Dream,’ and how capitalism was correlated with it, but a lot of young people don’t believe in it anymore,” said Ana Garcia, a junior at the Elon event. “We don’t trust capitalism because we don’t see ourselves getting ahead.” ...

The public schools have done, are doing a great job of brainwashing the young.

"Capitalism should not be condemned since we haven't had capitalism. A system of capitalism presumes sound money, not fiat money manipulated by a central bank. Capitalism cherishes voluntary contracts and interests rates that are determined by savings not credit creation by a central bank." Ron Paul.

No, Jim, God doesn't make fools any more than He makes homosexuals. Fools are fools by choice, and not by creation. (How long, ye simple ones, will ye love simplicity? and the scorners delight in their scorning, and fools hate knowledge?). The pilgrims who came over on the Mayflower soon learned how foolish socialism is. They tried having everyone lump all their agricultural products together and each family taking out what they needed, and they nearly starved. When they decided to let each family grow and keep their own crops, they had an overabundance. Socialism has never worked anywhere it has been tried. You know that, Jim, but you're not honest enough to admit it. Move to Cuba.

Why, Dr. Tim, I'm quite happy to have foolish evangelicals being the cat's-paw for us stockholders--as I pointed out there's a sucker born every minute, and that's the rank-and-file Republican. God bless fools--He's made so many of them.

And the bottom one percent in America are better off than the top fifty percent of many nations in the world. I'm still holding that plane ticket to North Korea for you, Jim.

Millennials don't like how the pie is divided?
Christopher Ingraham wrote:
....
Among rich nations, the United States stands out for the extent of its wealth inequality. The top 1 percent in the U.S. own a much larger share of the country's wealth than the 1 percent elsewhere. The American 1 percent gobble up twice as much pie (40 percent) as the 1 percent in France, the U.K., or Canada, and more than three times as much as the 1 percent in Finland....
---http://tinyurl.com/y9r8m9j9 (The richest 1 percent now owns more of the country’s wealth than at any time in the past 50 years )

This article probably make you hungry since it's has a lot to do about pies.

I would not want to derive any lessons from a survey taken of people younger than 25, since their brains do not mature until that age. No wonder the top-rated US radio talk show host calls them 'heads full of mush'
This survey reveals what has been fed into them from high school and popular culture. I suspect few of them have been entrepreneurs in the capitalist US society. I would even ask them about their work experiences--did they deliver newspapers (e.g. Warren Buffet), work in a fast-food restaurant, 'big box' retail store, local supermarket?

Asking them about capitalism vs. socialism is something they won't know about until years later, once they are cut loose from Mommy and Daddy's purse strings.
Better to survey them about Apple vs Microsoft products, restaurants they prefer, etc.
