The 2015 Theme: The Bible is the Word of God
As you read church history and study through the major confessions of faith, it doesn’t take long to notice that often an article regarding the Scriptures appears at the top of all of the other doctrines in the document. There is a reason the article on the Scriptures often precedes all of the other doctrines. For what a person believes about the Word of God has direct and consequential implications upon everything else about that person’s doctrine, worship, and spiritual life. Throughout world history, the most printed book is the Bible. It has been the subject of controversy, comfort, creed, and the foundational revelatory book of the church of Jesus Christ. Although many people have rejected the Bible, criticized its contents, and even tried to burn it – the Word of God has remained through the trials of history. Isaiah the prophet pointedly recorded his famous truth regarding God’s Word in Isaiah 40:8, “The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God will stand forever” – so it has been and so it shall remain throughout history. Join us in January of 2015 as we explore the truth about God’s Word – the Bible.
