And what say you, John UK? What would "your Jesus" do in our situation? Please take no offense! I think you raise a valid point. Although we disagree on the topic of self-defense, I think we would both agree that abortionists are even more murderous than the Texas shooter. I have always had a burden for the preborn. You often point out the wrongs you think American Christians are doing. Are you capable of giving us the "right" solution to our "abortion" problem?
Oh, and have you put the solution to work in your own country?
Jim you should really consider going into democratic politics, and leave this forum for those who cherish God's word and seek to allpy it to all in life. Or you can repent of your idolatry. You value your own opinions and thpsr of men more than you value the truth of Gods word. Repent therefore before it is too late for you!
John UK writes: "I don't see a biblical warrant for doing this. Why don't they just get on with doing what God told them to do, and face whatever consequences they have to face? As in, be a disciple of Jesus Christ, and follow him. Is that too simple?"
No biblical warrant!? Are Christians not allowed to use their citizens rights? Did not the apostle Paul use his citizen right when he appealed to caeser? That was the biblical equivalent of taking a case to the supreme court! I guess Paul was in the wrong... He should have just kept doing what God told him to do, and faced the consequences...
Sorry, John 4 jesus... john uk is right. Do you suppose that Christ never drank wine? Or that the Holy Spirit forgot to mention the fact that the wine we are to use in communion (or better yet the wine that Jesus drank or made) was non alcoholic? Or do you suppose that real wine is to be used for communion, but pastors/elders/bishops are to abstain from it? Use a little logic man!
