Alcohol does have medicinal value, however. It has cured countless people of chronic activity, intelligence, morality and even of life itself. Instead of getting the meaning out of scripture, it seems to me that you are listening to men who have tried to read meaning into it. My suggestion would be to set aside all of your commentaries and start all over at Genesis 1:1 with an open mind and a prayerful heart.
