“ Great Sermon! ”
As always agreat message and a lot to think about. I must a say that sermon audio is great. I do think your final section however deserves more time spent on it as a raises a number of questions regarding raising of children, an area which has changed greatly in recent years. As school and preschool start at a very young age are you suggesting that home schooling is preferred. To be honest in NI stay at home mothers appear to often be "out for lunch " another latest trendy cafe in town. My wife will be returning to work from maternity leave as a nurse soon. The traditional thinking might be that A female nurse should not be married. In fact being at work has been a great way to get to know people in an area she moved to and to be a witness in work to many people. I however do not want to sound critical as I get a from your teaching and preaching so thanks for all of it. I know it must not be easy and I'm sure has many trials we are not aware of. Keep up the good work

“ Excellent exposition ”
An encouraging and thought provoking sermon on an area of relevance to every Christian. Will lift the heart of many a weary soul and will be of relevance to those supporting a discouraged brother or sister in The Lord. Take the time and listen to it.

“ Great Sermon! ”
I find Pastor Paulsen's style of preaching very easy to listen to. This sermon is no exception. - this message is sound and biblically based (Philipians 3) and offers much encouragement to the believer. Very much worth listening to, digesting and reflecting upon. Undoubtedly of benefit to any believer.

Ivan, what I think is this: You once loved America and wanted to eventually have the privilege of calling yourself an American and have an American flag blowing in the wind hung up high on a pole on your new front lawn.
But...you were denied a green card, destroying your dream of ever becoming an American and now you are bitter, hating the America that you once loved.
How'd I do?
I assume that passes for humor in America.

No, just unfunny American sitcoms. They experimented with a cunning plan to protect the people from them by putting them on pay tv satellites along with your ungospel preachers.

From the foundations of the world !

God speaks of two different Jerusalems. One is the earthly one we initially think of, but the other is “Jerusalem above” which is made up of all the true believers:
“But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all.” (Galatians 4:26)
In Isaiah 40:1-2 God speaks of “Jerusalem above.” We know it is the “Jerusalem above” because God says her iniquity is pardoned; only the true believers have their iniquities pardoned. There God says the believers have received double for their sins:
“Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, saith your God. Speak ye comfortably to Jerusalem, and cry unto her, that her warfare is accomplished, that her iniquity is pardoned: for she hath received of the LORD's hand double for all her sins.” (Isaiah 40:1-2)

And once more I say or ask the question are you a child of the night?in which case the following will apply "HE will come as a thief in the night !

or are you a child of the Day in which case you will know when the MASTER comes!

We can not know how "GOD" spoke and created the entire universe either but we believe it

because HE said it and He wrote it in a BOOK !

WATCH only some few months to go till May 21,2011

The End !

The double inheritance the believers have received is illustrated by Christ suffering twice: ONCE TO PAY FOR THE SINS AND THE SECOND TIME TO "DEMONSTRATE"HIS LOVE.

His work is applied to them and so, in that sense, the result is the same as if the believers had made the payment themselves. This is why they too are referred to as the firstborn:
“For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.” (Romans 8:29)

The firstborn receive a double inheritance:
“Then it shall be, when he maketh his sons to inherit that which he hath, that he may not make the son of the beloved firstborn before the son of the hated, which is indeed the firstborn: But he shall acknowledge the son of the hated for the firstborn, by giving him a double portion of all that he hath: for he is the beginning of his strength; the right of the firstborn is his.” (Deuteronomy 21:16-1

John UK & others in answer again to your query
be sure to "WATCH " today.

The Double Inheritance

The Bible calls Christ “the firstborn from the dead”:
“And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.” (Colossians 1:18)

In principle, the elect were there making payment for their sins through Christ:
“I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.” (Galatians 2:20)
We have to be careful how we understand this fact. Christ did all the work required to save the believers; they did not contribute in any way.

And in conclusion

We find another passage in Hebrews which teaches that Christ already suffered before Creation, but He suffered once again at the cross:
“For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us: Nor yet that he should offer himself often, as the high priest entereth into the holy place every year with blood of others; For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.” (Hebrews 9:24-26)

end....then this will conclude the matter as they say !

Christ said this on Friday and His resurrection was not till Sunday, so if He was spiritually in Heaven on Friday then He could not have died spiritually. Only his physical body died on the cross. The payment for sin would have required both his body and soul to die. Therefore, what He did on the cross was a demonstration, not the actual payment. The actual payment took place before the world began and that is when He was begotten as He was raised from spiritual death.

to continue.....next the conclusion of the matter.BTW John Uk seems to think that this ties to the end times and has asked everyone he comes in contact with this question so I thought John deserves his answer.

The Greek word translated as “foreordained” (proginosko) should have been translated “foreknown” as it is everywhere else it is found in the Bible, but the translators couldn’t make sense of why Christ would be known as the Lamb slain way back before Creation. Therefore, they chose to use the word “foreordained,” changing the meaning of this verse to indicate that it was merely preplanned for Christ to be slain. However, this verse is really teaching that He had already been slain.

We know that Christ did not actually die spiritually on the cross. We know this because He told the thief that he would be with Him in paradise that day:
"And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, Today shalt thou be with me in paradise." (Luke 23:43)
