2nd request:"Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth." -Exodus 20:4 Are these few examples "graven images" -- a violation of Exodus 20:4 -- or not? Also, for a Lutheran, Baptist, Anglican, Presbyterian, Catholic, Methodist or Orthodox who kneels during the service yet doesn't actually worship the constituent molecules of a stained glass panel or statue, but rather, sees them as windows through which he views the thing signified, could he really be considered an idolater? |
