Yes, penned, it probably is; but God is still sovereign, and there have been some true conversions through this outreach, though tiny in number.

We have to occupy until He comes, and this church and others like it are beacons in a dark place.

If this had happened 100 years ago, (actually no way would it have happened 100 years ago), the official responsible for making this absolutely ludicrous appointment would have been charged no doubt with treason and sedition, and the new appointee would have been taken under armed guard to the nearest port on to a ship bound for his birth place!!!

It is tragic that these formerly great Christian countries are plotting how to commit suicide as quickly as possible.

Why do Muslims need to bother with suicide bombs, terror and street beheadings, to say nothing of rape, general lawlessness and rioting, when their work is being done for them by willing PC bureaucrats and liberal secular humanists, as well as the LGBT and Transgender crowd, and aided by abortion and euthanasia.

The Muslims are laughing all the way to the bank, as Judeo-Christian culture is destroyed, the nation rots from inside, and sharia law is quickly being established, not so much by the Muslims themselves, but the "dhimmi" traitors who run the country and are handing it over to them stage by stage.

This city is now very strongly Islamic, although there is also a strong Hindu and Sikh community as well.

The City Council also has many Islamic councillors, and one of the leading spokesmen for British Islam is the imam of a very large purpose built mosque in the city.

Meanwhile the official "Christian" churches are bending over backwards to accommodate this, with their interfaith approach.

I do, however, praise God, that there is some clear witness there, as the last church I attended, in the Islamic district, a large evangelical church, is uncompromisingly reaching out to the Muslims, and preaching the Gospel faithfully there.

I lived in a large city in the East Midlands of England for many years.

In the Islamic district of that city, near where I lived, and where the three churches I attended over the years were located, I saw drastic changes while I was there.

At first, burkas and niqabs were very rare, young women might have a simple headscarf, and a few a more thorough hijab. Men would just wear casual Western dress, and women a simple trouser suit or a long dress.

Over time however, the men all started wearing tunics, long beards, and little caps, and the scarves and hijabs grew more extreme. Most women in this district today wear long robes, and the burka and niqab is now increasingly in evidence. Women even wear this in the centre of the city.

Mosques were being built, madrasahs (religious schools for children and young adults) were also springing up, and now there are both private and state funded Islamic day schools, as well as residential seminaries and schools.

From what I understand, this seems to have been a disciplinary hearing linked up to his union membership, which though not compulsory, is most expected for many teaching jobs.

It was not, as far as I understand a disciplinary hearing by the teachers statutory disciplinary committee that can remove a teacher's right to practice, which is the body that can for instance rule that a teacher is unfit for the classroom, usually in cases of sexual abuse of pupils.

The National Union of Teachers, NUT, is the largest teachers' trade union in England and Wales,( Scotland and Northern Ireland have their own set ups), is very left wing and quite radical in all its views, like the USA NEA, on the same lines.

Thankfully it does not have a monopoly, and there are some smaller teachers unions that are more moderate. However the NUT is the most dominant, and a teacher expelled from its membership could have trouble getting promotion or certain good teaching jobs.

6 hours a week. This will be based on the secular humanist "British values" espoused by wavy Conservatives and the left socialist Labour Party of Jeremy Corbyn, and the Liberal Democrats as well.

The evangelicals have resisted this until now, but I don't know how long they can continue to resist this pressure. Please pray.

To return to the actual subject of this thread, the threat that this all-powerful government body in England and Wales, (Scotland and Northern Ireland have their own autonomous and separate set ups), OFSTED poses to British education and indeed any young people's or children's activities is immense.

OFSTED has virtually unlimited powers to inspect, report on, fail, put under special measures or even close or forcibly amalgamate any school, institution or activity that may come under its remit, in connection with children or young people between virtually birth and 18 years of age.

There are a number of activities that at present are exempt, such as certain foreign private or foreign government expatriate schools, some other private or independent schools, military linked schools, and at present, church youth activities and Sunday schools.

Suddenly, after a "Trojan Horse" scandal of Muslim dominated state schools in Birmingham, that came to light, encouraging terroristic and non-politically correct Muslim practices imposed on both children and staff, the wavy "Conservatives" and OFSTED want to enforce their secular humanist vision not only on the schools, etc., but now to extend their remit to any, and I mean any, activity involving children and young people for more than

I do indeed pray that this relatively peaceful Central American Latin country of Costa Rica, (mindful of problems of military coups in other Latin American countries, only allowing for a civilian police force and customs service, all military forces are banned by the Constitution in Costa Rica, so there is no Army, Air Force or Navy in this country), that the evangelical Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ will have full freedom to be proclaimed, that Evangelical churches will have full freedom of worship, discipleship and evangelism, and that Costa Rica will reject the PC pressure, already yielded to by some Latin American countries to accept the LGBT, Transgender, abortion, euthanasia and "climate change/ global warming / environmentalist" myth revolutions, which are being forced on these countries by the USA and other Western countries, and also the very dangerous Islamic influx, as I have heard that there is a growing number of Latin American converts to Islam.

I really pray that it may indeed be possible for this evangelical, if it is God's sovereign will, to become the next President of this relatively stable Latin American country of Costa Rica.

I thought that the PCA was an evangelical breakaway from the apostate liberal PCUSA, which embraces abortion, as well as the LGBT agenda.

This "Christ the King" Presbyterian Church in Houston should discipline this "ruling elder" immediately, and throw him off the eldership, following with full excommunication if he does not repent of his pro-abortion position. If they do not do this hiding behind a PC screen, then the PCA presbytery, indeed the whole PCA denomination should disaffiliate the whole congregation immediately and throw them out of the denomination.

This man is a wolf in sheep's. clothing, who deceives evangelicals to vote for him, and throw out the present, I believe, pro-life governor in Texas.

True Bible based evangelicals can not be "politically correct", but must make a stand against infant murder.

Just as the Israelite priests were not to go to the OT temples of Baal and worship there or support them, so modern pastors and elders are not to support this wicked Canaanite murder of unborn babies committed by the abortionists.

"God of grace and God of glory", which indeed He is, but for these learned and apostate men and women clergy who deny this Holy God and His Precious Word, to say this in a prayer outside a modern Baal temple which practices the most barbaric "late term" abortions which literally tears a fully formed baby limb from limb as it is being taken by force out of its mother's womb, and calling it a "holy place", is nothing short of blasphemy.

It is the same as Israelite priests in the OT, going down to the temple of Baal, Astarte, Chemosh or Molech, or other Canaanite abominations, and blessing them in the Name of the one true and Holy God, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, the God of Israel, and indeed of the whole Universe, and calling this idolatrous temple, where infant sacrifice and ritual prostitution were the normal methods of worship, a "holy place"!!!!

This is why repeatedly, Israel was judged, and her apostate priests, prophets and kings punished, as well as the people they deceived. These modern wolves in sheep's clothing must be denounced, and any in their churches, or synagogues, should depart immediately, shaking the dust off their feet, and repent of any involvement with these wicked practices

Mr Lincoln, I really do suspect that you would have preferred that terrible woman, the abortionist and avid friend of Planned Parenthood, pro-LGBT, pro-Transgender, pro-euthanasia, pro-pot, pro-"climate change / environmentalism / global warming" myth, pro-Islamic, pro-Palestinian, anti-Israel, and pro-Iran, and of course pro-unlimited Islamic immigration lady, aka Hilary Clinton to have got in, rather than the President Trump that you despise so much.

We may not admire many aspects of your President, but remember, it would have been a lot worse with that terrible woman who would have followed in her predecessor's disastrous policies, and would have brought the USA to its knees in the face of the Russia /Iran / Turkey axis, from the outside and the zealous Islamic and secular humanist forces threatening to take over from the inside, to say nothing of North Korea, and its nuclear ambitions.

In Britain, here where we have a wobbly and disunited Conservative Party under PM May, trying reluctantly to get us out of the EU after the Brexit vote, we have Jeremy Corbyn of Labour, aka the British Senator Bernie Sanders, waiting in the wings. We have to pray for these people, no matter how much we may dislike them, and that is what we must do.

The Turpin case will be a tragedy for the homeschooling parents of the "People's Republic of California", as it will
be used as an excuse to ban or strictly control homeschoolers and a stick to beat them with.

This is the same "People's Republic of California" that is giving the vote to anyone, including illegal immigrants, who happens to have a valid driver's licence, thus ensuring a complete dominance for the governing party there, and will fine restaurateurs and waiters / waitresses $1,000 for giving out one use plastic drinking straws!!!! Care workers in homes, and the owners of those homes, already face prohibitive fines and sanctions if they do not give their elderly people full Transgender and LGBT rights, even allowing elderly men into ladies restrooms!!!

The madness of this state will no doubt force the homeschooling children into the LGBT Transgender abortion public schools, with, but most likely without the consent of the parents!!! We must indeed pray for the godly Bible Gospel preaching churches and Christians in California, as they face these increasingly difficult times.

These Turkish state sponsored Islamic schools will soon become as bad as the infamous madrasahs of Pakistan, where countless youngsters are brainwashed by zealous clerics with sharia Islam, and will become fanatical Islamic potential terrorists.

I have no doubt Etdogan will fairly quickly Islamise the remaining secular schools and colleges or close them down, and of course both non-Islamic private schooling and homeschooling will no doubt be completely banned, and if necessary, children taken away from Christian and other non-Muslim families.

Dear Carl, I trust and pray that things with your wife and small son will improve, and that God will indeed move in your situation.

To return to the matter of the retirement of Cecile Richards, the head of Planned Parenthood, this Canaanite High Priestess of Astarte, Baal, Chemosh and Molech, in the modern clinical form, has worked as hard and feverishly as her infamous OT counterpart, the Syro-Phoenician High Priestess and Queen of Northern Israel, and wife to King Ahab, to establish murder of children as a national pursuit and obsession!!

The cults of Astarte and Baal her consort were noted for the central role of both infant sacrifice and ritual prostitution, and PP seems to be linked up with both those practices, albeit done in a more clinical and subtle way.

Sadly, I must agree with penned, as not only the squashy Republicans and so called "conservatives" in USA seem to waver and go along with abortion and other unspeakable things, but here in Britain the so called "conservatives", have been in the lead in establishing "gay" marriage, they would like to push for euthanasia, and now the transgender revolution, and also want to force this on Northern Ireland, the remaining part of the United Kingdom that does not accept these things.

If this is the so called "Conservatives", or Republicans, what will happen in Britain when Labour, the Liberal Democrats, or any other combination gets in, or in USA if the Democrats get in!!!!

We are in the end only to trust in God, not in any politician of any stripe, left, centre or right.

Tragically, Mexico is indeed full of violence and a literal cult of death.

Apart from the superstitious goings on of the Catholic populace who pray at family tombstones in cemeteries on All Hallows' Eve on the Mexican version of Halloween, and the murderous rampages of the drug gangs who ruthlessly kill their rivals, and indeed anyone who gets in their way, there actually is a literal death cult.

There is a worship of "Santa Muerte", literally "Saint Death", and whole hordes of people visit demonic shrines of this mythical figure, who is represented by a skeleton. Incense and sacrifices are offered to this idol, and it is carried around in procession, I believe. This is not officially part of any Catholic ritual, but tragically most of the people involved in this probably also attend the Catholic Church.

Meanwhile in southern Mexico, in the rural state of Chiapas, evangelical Protestant families are expelled by their local village councils from their homes, fields and farms, and even improsoned, contrary to the Mexican federal law, because they will not attend or pay for pseudo-Catholic proto-pagan fiestas, where statues of saints are carred about in procession, and much riotous drunkenness takes place. Mexico is obviously a land in need of much prayer, and Gospel outrea

I agree with many of the commentators previously. I would not attack those who read Amish novels, (not written by the Amish by the way, but usually authors who know about them), but at least they are, I am informed more wholesome than most other secular novels!!

However, I agree that, rather like the Orthodox Jews, whom they resemble, and other traditional Catholic and Eastern Orthodox communities, the Amish desperately need evangelising.

Though they have a basic faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, it is tragically based on faith +works, and not on faith alone.

I have heard of an Amish, who is now an evangelical pastor who outreaches to his former Amish people with the real gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ, and he has seen many come to that living knowledge of the Saviour. May God bless him and his outreach.

No, Jon from Pennsylvania, you do not hit them first off, you grab them from the danger and pull them away, and then firmly warn them.

Only if they then defy you, then you use corporal punishment and not uncontrolled in a bad temper or shouting at them wildly.

Corporal punishment must always be done reasonably, sadly, but firmly. Remember the 1st time a child goes out on the road or puts his or her hand towards the hot hob, he or she does not necessarily realise that he or she has done wrong.

Parents should lovingly and firmly explain things first to children, and only then should punishment be used, and corporal punishment should always be the last resort.

The Bible that enjoins corporal punishment also tells us that we are not to vex our children. Parents need great prayerful wisdom as to how they punish and reward their children, and balance is most important.

I had a father who unfortunately did not always know the difference, though I did not suffer from the excesses that I have heard other children endured from their parents.

Evangelicals, albeit mostly of the Pentecostal type, are actually very strong in Chile.

The largest denomination is the Methodist Pentecostals, who have their own Evangelical Cathedral in Santiago de Chile. There are many other groups as well, including an indigenous uniformed Evangelical Army, a sort of independent Chilean version of the Salvation Army,, who parade through the streets and wear a white uniform.

Most of these churches thankfully do not have modern Western style CCM "worship bands", but a very large "Coro", or choir and orchestra, playing traditional hymns and choruses, with very lusty singing. Mandolins and guitars are the main instruments, with a keyboard, brass section and occasionally drums, and the Coro seems to consist of half the Church, though the rest of the congregation join in enthusiastically as well.

Once a year, the Evangelical Cathedral in Santiago hosts an Evangelical Te Deum, in the presence of the President of Chile, and government ministers, with a packed congregation, and mass choir and orchestra in the upstairs gallery.

Perhaps Pope Francis own goal with the bishop who supported the paedophile priest may drive some more Catholics into the arms of the Evangelicals!!!
