Kev, it is admirable what you are seeking to achieve, and I am willing to be a part of that. Sounds good to me, brother.
So let's start with what I've been called:
1. Unregenerate
2. Catholic mystic endorser (just like A W Pink and C H Spurgeon)
3. Ecumenist
4. Decisional regeneralist
5. Crusade evangelist supporter
6. One who says a simple nod is good enough for salvation
7. Unrepentant
8. An excommunicated person
9. Charismatic
10. Universalist
11. Roman Catholic troll
Ok John to be fair it is not fair to call you:

1. Unregenerate

3. Ecumenist (though you have defended some who are)
4. Dec..
6. One who says a simple nod is good enough for salvation

9. Charismatic
10. Universalist
11. Roman Catholic troll

I don’t feel those titles fit you to be honest. Some of the other ones I erased you can ask about individually if you’d like. If I called you those things I don’t feel they are an accurate thing to call you and I MYSELF would clear the air and apologize if you did the same for things you may have called me (if I was the other party). I already apologized to you already and I have no problem in doing it again.

What about YOUR PART, calling people devils etc..? Any thing you feel YOU feel you should say?

You bet, Kev. I've tried many, many times over the years, but maybe a different approach by someone different will have an impact and results. The most important quality, to hopefully produce results, is one simple word...balance...everyone gets treated the exact same.
I agree that’s why I brought up both parties involved. I know that being married teaches you how to make peace with each other I’m sure you know this lesson you can either be right all the time (thinking you had no role in it) or happy.

John when I made my first comment this morning I wanted to know your answer. Later after I started to make comments I felt it would be good if we tried to work on all this bickering after I read some of the comments. I was hoping EVERYONE could see their part in everything and make amends I don’t know why this is so hard it isn’t as if any one person couldn’t apologize for something they saw as wrong on their part. If you have no problem with the names you have called some that is between you and God I’m not the one to tell you it was right or wrong I just know I wouldn’t want to have done that.
—
Thanks Christopher I feel it is worth the shot. Wouldnt it be great if everyone could at least acknowledge their own part and try to at least put it past us. I don’t think this will happen unless everyone claims their own part. I figure it was worth the shot and I’m trying to lead by example like you said No ONE is innocent in all this.

Hey John UK My main point is to encourage others to try and fix the dynamic on this forum right now. After and if this gets fixed I would love to go forth and discuss some of these things and try to do it in a little better manner. I know that in your conversations you called some a few names. Do you feel that was appropriate? Maybe to try and fix the dynamic you might want to consider evaluating some of your past interactions and maybe try to make some peace for some of those names you called people? I don’t want you to just say something but want you to dig deep and see your part and maybe try and clear the air.
—
So I’m not being one sided if you were to do this it would be nice if Ladybug acknowledged that some of her arguments with you were also lacking on her part as well and if you guys can at least see the parts that you both played we can try to move on be a little more conscience of these things in the future and work on them. Whatever points are to be made they would be more effective if handled a little better.

Hey Tim I have actually been great this new year! I have been a lot better sense I took the time to evaluate my behavior and have a desire to acknowledge and to work on some of the areas I may be lacking in. If you have a problem with something Freepass has to say quote what you have a problem with and admonish the person with patience and according to the scripture. The environment of SA has gotten very toxic and it is a dynamic that has many players that contribute to this dynamic. I can own up to my part in it all and I hate to see all the bickering and I don’t like how it makes me at all and I hate to see others caught up in it all either. Calling people a fool who very well might be a Christian Brother or Sister is a very bad thing to do and it grieves the Spirit try to be a little more patient and it will help in establishing your point as well. Language exp. RACA?

Matthew 5:22

22 But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.

Thanks TMC and sorry I may of not been very patient with you in the past. I’m working on that lol.

Dr. Tim I believe it would help to explain your position without the calling of names like: “pipsqueak,” “worm,” “wimp,” etc... don’t you think? Maybe we can try to be part of the solution not the problem. I know you have a joking manner to your comments but others may not take it that way. There is a season for everything.

Now your point about the 1689 Baptist confession. Dig out your copy, and show me any chapter which you are unsure of whether or not I believe it. Then I can tell you whether or not I believe that one item. I can't do better than that, brother.
John my main point is that your comments are easy to be misunderstood (at the least). The person I replied to was SURE you believed in cestationism and I see that you yourself pray in tongues. Like I have said before your comments at the least can be hard to understand your point and sometimes they even at the least SEEM contradictory. You have had some pretty heated debates and words were said that shouldn’t of been. Maybe like I did you could apologize for some of the names called.

Ladybug isn’t innocent either her comments need some more meekness and patience as it takes two to tango. I was actually very saddened the other day when I apologized to you for my part in all the quarreling and I apologized to everyone for my part John. I was hoping you could do the same and in the future WE could try to handle things a little better and move on from this. There is no innocent party it’s goid to be able to at least recognize our own part in all this bickering and change it.

I wouldn’t be too sure that is his position. Here is what he wrote about his own situation with tongues:

John UK wrote:

Thirdly, when I was just a new Christian I read everything I could get my hands on. One was a paperback (aye aye) on the subject of spiritual gifts, which gave the biblical perspective. I tried out praying in tongues at home and thought I had it. I can pray like that at will, anytime (always in private).
Fourthly, no I would not say I'm sure about it, because it is not proveable. But if the Spirit gave it me.........
—
I was meaning to ask John about this but it was a little to heated at the time to ask. But John what is it like speaking in tongues?

How did you learn it? How do you know the Spirit gave it to you?

Or am I understanding your comment right?

Oh Man I’m so glad awhile back that I apologized to whoever I may of offended and stayed out of these quarrels this new year (that was my resolution lol). I know one thing is for sure these conversations don’t breed the fruit of the Spirit which is love, joy, peace, etc...

I love the truth of scripture and I love discussing it with like minded brethren and I’m glad I have some that I can and do do this with. I for one don’t like how too much quarreling makes me. You guys might be surprised but I actually don’t like quarreling lol

I hope you guys can not get too heated you don’t want to get consumed by this. There is a point where You know you did your part to help others out and you need to give it up to God. I know my peace has been restored knowing that I have done my part and everything is out of my hands and give it up. We all offend and whoever doesn’t is a perfect person.

Hopefully the discussions can not be taken too far where some get carried away and build up resentments that aren’t healthy and others realize what angers some and learn to let things go that might really upset some.

You all have a blessed day.

1 Pet 2:13 "Submit yourselves to EVERY ORDINANCE of MAN"
All powers and all ordinaces of man in all human history according to the bible is the ordinances of God, that thus includes Pharoah, Jezebel, the Mongols, Islamics, Lenin, Hitler, Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot Obama, Castro, Kim, Idi Amin, etc. etc. etc.
Resist any of them and you "shall receive damnation" since if you resist them you are resisting God himself since HE ORDAINED all of them and you are to "submit to EVERY one of their ordinances" or else.
Is that you JJ?

Romans 13:3

3 For RULERS are NOT A TERROR TO GOOD, BUT TO EVIL. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same:

So according to scripture rulers that are biblical are not a terror to good works but to the evil. Can that be said of the regimes you listed?

Nice try there. Trying to lump everything together is unwise.

A command to the disciples speaking of what will happen to those THEY baptized. Note, not ask talk with tongues, do they? Not all preach, do they? Etc
Very cool your grandson has understanding! That’s a good sign. I know when I was in my 30’s I couldn’t of understood that lol as it is the Spirit that gives understanding. That’s nice to hear you raising the boy to know the scriptures! You have a G’day bro

Hey Dave! I was gonna say hi to you last post but I seem to always run out of room lol. Yeah I’m not sure what John’s post was getting at. I see those verses giving some support to Apostolic gifts when read in context and seeing that the signs were for CONFIRMING the word as seen in:

Mark 16:20
And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and CONFIRMING THE WORD with signs following. Amen.

Those verse pivot on those signs CONFIRMING the word. I know without careful reading those verses thrown out there could of been a stumbling block for some.

Here is the verses right before the verses you gave so that those verses may be seen in context as it was to the “ELEVEN” that these verses are to and their ministry.

Mark 16:13-14
13   And they went and told it unto the residue: neither believed they them.
14   Afterward he appeared unto the ELEVEN as they sat at meat, and upbraided them with their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they believed not them which had seen him after he was risen.

John UK wrote:
Mark 16:15-20 KJV
(15)  And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
(16)  He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.
(17)  And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;
(18)  They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.
(19)  So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God.
(20)  And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and CONFIRMING THE WORD with signs following. Amen.
Thes were also to CONFIRM THE WORD!

Our main goal as an evangelical Church is that if a new person is to come through the door they may hear the Gospel. If they think we are mad what then?

1 Corinthians 14:23

23 If therefore the whole church be come together into one place, and all speak with tongues, and there come in those that are unlearned, or unbelievers, will they not say that ye are mad?

Four words about the Gospel is better than 10,000 of something else.

1 Corinthians 14:19

19 Yet in the church I had rather speak five words with my understanding, that by my voice I might teach others also, than ten thousand words in an unknown tongue.

We know that all church service is to be orderly and unto the edification of the Body of Christ. I don’t see even IF tongues existed where the place for them would be in a church setting today. We know only a wicked and adulterous generation seeks after a sign and Church services are to be orderly with the main point as Jesus Christ and Him crucified. We should also be seeking the service for anyone to come off the streets and hear the Gospel and not think we are mad. So EVEN and I stress EVEN if there were tongues that were around today there would be no place for it in a church setting. I care to know nothing but Christ and Him crucified not signs and..

I like that Bro

Jesus is the King of kings and Lord of lords. The Centurion was approved because of his great faith because of his testimony of who Jesus was:

Matthew 8
8 The centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed.

9 For I am a man under authority, having soldiers under me: and I say to this man, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it.

10 When Jesus heard it, he marvelled, and said to them that followed, Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.

The centurion’s testimony was that Jesus was a Man of GREAT AUTHORITY who by His word things are done by whatsoever He commands. True faith gives this same testimony of Christ.

Hey Observer I figured I would avoid threads that get me down lol.

I like what James said about the Kingdom of God is in you.

I would say this new Tabernacle that is set up can be seen in the expression being found “in Christ” and the light that Christ is, is found in the expression of “Christ in you” who is that new Man that is formed IN YOU who is a light unto your FEET in the Psalms and seen here:

2 Peter 1:19

19 We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a LIGHT that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:

That light that is in your heart when the Day Star arises in your heart is Christ in you.

The other is being found in Christ which is the only place where we are to have communion with God which is being found in Christ.

Hebrews 9:11
But CHRIST being come an high priest of good things to come, BY A greater and more PERFECT TABERNACLE, NOT MADE WITH HANDS, that is to say, not of this building;

2 Corinthians 5

5 For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a BUILDING OF GOD, AN HOUSE NOT MADE WITH HANDS, eternal in the heavens.

2 For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with our HOUSE which is...
