I strongly suspect that Kim Jong Un is pulling off a fast one because his nuclear test Centre, as pointed out in the other story on SA News today, has collapsed.

It is also not far from the Chinese border, and the Chinese Government is very nervous with the possible radioactive fallout that may affect China.

As to South Korea, it has an appeasement government, that wants peace at any price. As to President Trump, I think he is biding his time, but he definitely needs skill to deal with this slippery North Korean customer, as he (Kim Jong Un) is not to be trusted. Pray for the North Korean Christians, as I suspect their lot is not going to improve any time soon!!!

Though this was reported on the British BBC, this was a case in the United States.

I am not sure that this guy could have got away with this in Britain.

However, I have heard that US universities are always looking out for brilliant American football / baseball / basketball players etc., to give them sports scholarships, and these students don't actually have to be particularly academic or bright, as long as they do very well in the requisite university sports or athletic team!!!

Back in Britain, things like dyslexia and other learning difficulties were not widely recognised in schools and colleges until the 1990's, and regrettably students with such difficulties were often punished by ill-informed teachers and lecturers instead of being helped. That thankfully is generally a thing of the past, and students receive much more help, special tuition, and extra allowances for exams and assignments.

We can indeed only pray for the brave ethnic Korean Chinese, some South Koreans, and even illegal North Korean immigrants to China, ( the latter face arrest and forced repatriation to North Korea, which could mean death or a ferry long sentence in one if the concentration camps if the regime.) , who share the Gospel on the North Korean / Chinese border.

The martyrs and prisoners cry out "How long O Lord, how long?"

I also pray that if and when they meet, President Trump will not be fooled by any trickery from Kim Jong Un.

Apart from the normal doctrinal disaster of the Roman Catholic Church, we now have this Jesuit Pope Francis I, who even contradicts Catholic doctrine.

He certainly badly calculated wrongly over the Catholics in Chile that did not want his choice of Bishop, a man who actively supported a notorious paedophile priest, and may be accused of joining in. It seems he certainly looked the other way.

Chilean Evangelical churches are very numerous, and may find many more disillusioned Catholic members, fleeing to their refuge, as a reaction to and disgust with Pope Francis I.

In Britain, we don't have the luxury of very many truly evangelical Christian schools.

Though nominally Christian schools, mainly Catholic and Anglican, are permitted in our state (public) school system, unlike the all secular USA, (that is, it was secular since the 1960's thanks to the infamous Supreme Court decision initiated by the notorious atheist activist Madelyn Murray O'Hare), they are subject to the increasing political correctness of our government, and its infamous "muscular secularist" inspection agency OFSTED.

We do have a very tiny number of truly independent Christian Evangelical schools, that do not take any government money at all, and there is a very limited amount of homeschooling, ( very few resources for it), which is not illegal here, but is regarded with great suspicion by the government and local education authorities.

However, the ample and numerous Christian schools in the USA are not all evangelical, and those that are, have sadly often compromised in some issues, such as Genesis, letting in evolution, while still referring to the Creator, perhaps in formal assemblies at the same time.

I do not always agree with Jim Lincoln, but he has picked up some good sources on this matter.

Between them, Bill Hybels of Willow Creek and Rock Warren of Saddleback have caused more chaos to the professing evangelical church than most other people, including even the prosperity gospellers.

Through them we have seen other movements like the Emerging Church, the mystical Contemplative Prayer, and even the so called "New Apostolic Reformation", which if course is not new, apostolic or a reformation, come out after them!

Now no doubt, the former Pastor Bill Hybells can now, no doubt, spend more time supporting his wife Lynne, in her anti-Israel and pro-Christian Palestinian Replacement Theology ministry and teaching for which she has become famous.

Unfortunately, if he doesn't repent in his remote rural monastery before the end of his days, he will face a very severe court with an Absolute and All Holy Judge, with an eternal sentence that will make the USA or Canadian prison sentence seem rather a light and almost pleasant alternative!!!

Having got this clerical Monsignor to the Vatican City, stuck him in a gaol in this tiny city state within Rome where he will spend a year or two, no doubt, chances are he will be very silently whisked off to a remote monastery in a rural area of Italy, or maybe a third country, and will spend the rest of his days in seclusion in such a place.

The Italian authorities won't bother to upset the apple cart by demanding him being handed over to them, so that they can prepare him for extradition to Canada or the USA, and he certainly won't be extradited to either of those two countries anyway as the Vatican wouldn't allow it.

At least Cardinal Pell of Australia who was also accused of paedophile activities, did have the guts to leave the Vatican and hand himself over to the Australian authorities for trial, but this corrupt and slippery Monsignor will just disappear into the monastic system most likely for the rest of his life, and will of course, avoid the inevitable very very long prison sentence that awaits him should he ever be extradited ( in the case of USA, most likely life without parole, and perhaps a little shorter in Canada, though the country that got him first would hopefully extradite him to the other country if he finished his sentence with them).

Unfortunatel

Yes, indeed Ealing is in England, and is one of the London Boroughs, located in west London, north of the Thames River.

London is divided into a number of different unitary boroughs, that run everything in their local area, except for transport, police, major highways and infrastructure, and the Fire Brigade, which are run by the Greater London Authority which has an elected Mayor and Assembly.

The City of London does have its own city police service, as do the railways and tube (metro) stations, (British Transport Police), separate from the Metropolitan Police and certain parks in Central London are directly run by the UK Government, but otherwise the local London Boroughs are very important and powerful

It is in fact not far from where I live at present in a neighbouring London borough.

Basically, both Marie Stopes, and the other main abortion provider here in Britain, British Pregnancy Advice Service, both registered charities, are roughly equivalent to the infamous Planned Parenthood of the USA, and have a number of clinics.

However, these are usually "last resort" or "emergency" abortion providers, as our state run NHS actually provides most abortions here, and the chemical ones that now can be provided by any qualified nurse practitioner or even a pharmacist

With regard to YouTube, there are still some good Christian messages out there. While looking in it, I came upon some sermons and testimonies from Calgary Free Presbyterian Church, pastored I believe by Armen Thomassien, who is known here at SA.

How long this will be tolerated by the left wing folks that run social media at YouTube, Facebook and so on, I don't know, but let us make the most of it while it is there.

It is good to see a Methodist church make a stand like this, and I hope that they are able to keep their building; but if not, I trust they may be able to purchase another building, perhaps of another liberal church that has closed down!!

At Christmas time I stayed in a Methodist owned seaside hotel in Cornwall, tragically here the official Methodist Church is very liberal.

I did however attend a tiny Methodist chapel very near the hotel, and the service was taken by a lay preacher who was straight down the line evangelical, and preached a good solid Biblical message that John Wesley would have been proud of!

I have actually seen a Shiite Muslim procession here in England, where the men were beating their backs with a whip.

As rightly stated in the article, Martin Luther, the great Protestant Reformer, used to beat himself when he was a Catholic Augustinian monk, when he was searching for salvation, until he found it through reading " And the just shall live by faith" in the book of Romans.

Sadly these drastic flagellations are signs of desperate people who profess to be Christians, trying to be saved by works, when the Bible tells us in Ephesians, that we are saved by grace through faith and not if works lest any man should boast. It is the completed work of the Lord Jesus Christ that saves us, not our own " filthy rags" as the prophet Isaiah calls our "righteousness" that we try to offer God for our salvation. I trust that these desperate Mexican men discover this very soon. Only then can they have assurance of their salvation, when they have been truly born again, as was Martin Luther.

Tragically, as stated by other commentators here, the whole Papacy is a corrupt system.

The Traditionalist Catholics are in a deep hole, because in 1870, as the Italian Nationalists were closing in to conquer the Papal States of Central and Southern Italy, and unify Italy as a single broadly secular kingdom, and seal the Pope up in a small section of Rone, subsequently called the Vatican City, (which was only released in 1920 or so, when Mussolini signed a deal with the Pope for him to recognise Italy, and the loss of his Papal States), Pope Pius IX, forced through the formal recognition of the dogma in the 1st Vatican Council, that the Pope is infallible in all matters of faith and conduct when he makes a pronouncement from St Peter's Chair in the Vatican.

This forces Traditionalist Catholics to either accept the liberal Pope Francis I with clenched teeth, or posssibly join one of the few small "Sedevacantist" groups, (no valid Pope after Pius XII in the 1950's and rejecting the 2nd Vatican Council), or perhaps the SSPX Society, which sort of accepts the modern Papacy, but works outside the Catholic Church, keeping traditional practices.

What these sad folks don't know is that they need to reject the whole system, read the Bible, the Holy Scriptures, the Word of God, b

While "day age progressive creation" and the even more radical "theistic evolution" are very obvious dangers and gross compromises against the Biblical account of Creation in Genesis, there is a third much more subtle compromise regrettably held by many leading evangelicals, and that is the gap theory.

Inserting a gap of no doubt millions of years between Genesis 1:1 and 1:2, and putting in some kind of former creation before the actual one that is described in the rest of Genesis 1, which also fell and was replaced by the Genesis creation, and perhaps the fall of Lucifer that perhaps happened at the end of this or during this "previous" creation, it seems to be a more "respectable" way of incorporating the demands of modern Darwinian secular humanistic science into the Bible, without actually seeming to openly embrace evolution.

In some ways, this view, I think, is even more dangerous than the other two compromises, as it is very subtle, and seemingly attractive to many solid evangelicals.

All three viewpoints, have the problem, that the Creation, which God says, was "very good", has death and suffering before the fall of Adam and Eve, and therefore this makes an absolute nonsense of the fall, sin, and the Atonement.

Also Guernsey, a tiny self-governing island Crown "dependency" of Britain, with its subsidiary islands of Alderney and Sark, which has its own sterling currency of notes and coins at par with the British currency, its own Parliament and government, alongside another island, Jersey that also has its own separate sterling currency, Parliament and government, and located just off the coast of North France, is sadly only reflecting much of the liberalism and secularism of the British mainland.

Sadly, this cannot be overruled by the British Parliament in London, but only by a special royal council called the Privy Council, that though nominally headed by the Queen, is actually stuffed with politicians, many of them of a left wing hue, who will no doubt let the measure pass.

This will indeed reflect on the mainland, as the unelected judges of the US style Supreme Court that we now have here, which replaced the House of Lords Judicial Committee some time ago are very likely to point to this as a valuable precedent, to push through this type of law here, or override a contrary vote in our Parliament for the mainland.

Indeed, it is true that we are not to put our trust in princes, as stated in the Psalms. I do believe the failed "Moral Majority" movement in the States fell down on that one, trusting in flawed Right Wing politicians instead of in the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Holy Scriptures.

We are primarily to preach the Gospel, and lives will be transformed through that.

However, that does not mean that when an evil government that we are still able to elect starts passing evil laws that we are to sit down passively and just let it happen.

That is what happened in Britain in 1967, when leading evangelicals opposed any political action at all, and the Abortion Act here passed through a half empty House of Commons, I think on a Friday evening, or something like that, and we have been living with its consequences ever since.

Now other evil things have got through, but only under great protest, and some things have been thankfully thrown out, because many leading evangelicals are highly alert, and well we need to be.

Putting aside the real problems that all evangelical Protestants should have with the Roman Catholic Church, what we are dealing with here are the two separate sides of Catholicism.

They both hold to the wrong doctrines of transubstantiation in the Mass, priests, confession and absolution, veneration of saints and more particularly the Virgin Mary, salvation by grace through faith plus works, indulgences, Purgatory, etc., etc. These were the same doctrines that were rightly condemned at the Protestant Reformation.

However, the two sides diverge here. The ones that President Maduro of Venezuela is attacking are no doubt the more pre-Vatican 2 Catholics who actually uphold the moral positions of the Catholic Church against abortion, divorce, and for heterosexual marriage, as well as the basic doctrines of the Trinity and the Creeds, and who are no friends of Socialism or Communism.

He is rather more comfortable with the renegade Jesuits and socialist "Liberation Theologians" that are rife in Latin America, and which, by the way, Pope Francis himself is more comfortable with, as he (Pope Francis), is a Jesuit Liberation Theologian himself!!

Corinthian is indeed about right. They had all sorts of pagan Graeco-Roman gods in Corinth, and no doubt many others besides, and the city was full of immorality.

But Paul the Apostle told the Corinthian believers that they had come out of all that, and that they were now a new creation, born of the Spirit of God.

This pastor, so called, is nothing more than a deceiver and a wolf in sheep's clothing leading his large flock astray with false doctrine and universalism.

The Lord Jesus Christ very clearly taught that in John 14 v 6, "I am the way, the truth and the life; no man cometh to the Father but through me". This false pastor is teaching his people clearly therefore that the Lord Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour, was lying when He said this!! No, "Pastor", God's Word says that God is true, and every man a liar.

We must indeed pray for these poor sheep led astray by their pastor, and others like him, that they will discover the truth, get out of this church, and any others like it, be born again of the Spirit of God, and join a church where the truth of God's Word is really taught.
