John 6:39 And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.
To me this says all that needs to be said. It's not about what man can do to keep from falling away..... it's about the Father's command to the Son. Personally, I believe He is capable.

Amen . I also think these verses in Hebrews 10 makes it pretty clear:

Hebrews 10:38 Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him. 10:39 But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul.

Those who believe they have to do something of their own volition to insure they don't lose their salvation most likely have not yet been born by the will of God...... they are not yet/may never be children of promise.

At the very least they do not understand biblical soteriology. I dont have a lot of patience for people who believe you can loose your salvation since its so insulting to the finshed work of Christ. Paul speaks of people like this in Galatians.

Galatians 3:3 Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?

God puts it in no uncertain terms that fornication is a sin, so this heretic definitely didn't come to this conclusion by reading scripture.

My last comment got taken down, so have filtered it through one of the free "anti- butt hurt speech filters" available from a liberal website and hopefully no one will take offense at this version.

I still take offense. I guess I'll have to retreat to my safe space

From the article:
In his message for the ā€œWorld Day of Prayer for the Care of Creationā€ Thursday, Pope Francis said that human-induced global warming, as well as a loss of biodiversity are ā€œsinsā€ against God, which must be atoned for by planting trees, avoiding the use of plastic and paper and ā€œseparating refuse.

And here I thought that only the blood of Christ could atone for our sins.

Romans 5:10 For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life. 5:11 And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement.

Progressives tend to just parrot liberal talking points. You have to wonder if they've ever had an original thought.

And you give me a hard time about vegemite.

When I lived in Arkansas I met people that ate possum brains. That was a little much for me.

From the article:
The Social Justice Living-Learning Community is ā€œdesigned for students who are involved in promoting a more inclusive and just society"

They're inclusive all right. As long as you agree with their point of view. Disagree with one of these pampered social justice warriors and they'll either go on a vicious tirade or retreat to their safe space.

Sounds like they're getting their excuses ready in case Trump wins. The government wasn't too concerned with all the voter fraud for Obama like dead people miraculously voting for him.

I think Andrea just meant to say we should be careful to say God has given someone over to a reprobate mind since we don't know if God has a plan for that person or not. There's all kind of wicked people who end up getting saved later in life. There's no question that God has given people over to a reprobate mind, but we don't know who is elect or not so its hard for us to say with certainty who God has done this to.

Andrea,Athens Greece writes:
After reading some comments here it is evident that many believe God's work is more important than marriage and there is no time for dating( godly) and eventually marriage. This is western thinking and culture.

I think it depends on the person. After all, Paul never married and mentioned those who abstain from marriage in 1 Corinthians chapter 7.

1 Corinthians 7:7 For I would that all men were even as I myself. But every man hath his proper gift of God, one after this manner, and another after that. 7:8 I say therefore to the unmarried and widows, It is good for them if they abide even as I. 7:9 But if they cannot contain, let them marry: for it is better to marry than to burn.
