savedbygrace wrote: Overcomer, Amen. Every one who believes Christians should be active in whatever pursuit God has placed them is not necessarily a dominion theologist. In todays Biblical evangelical realm we love to talk faith but not to practice it. Rationalism has invaded the church. Will there be any faith when Christ returns? There is definite metaphorical language in Psalm 127 and the man is not only a warrior for the Lord but is a mighty warrior because the beloved is a faithful man with the Lord building the house. We are in a spiritual battle but nevertheless we are now on an earthly plane to be salt and witnesses for Christ and in trusting Him for our family there indeed will be more of a Christian witness who may speak with our skeptical enemies in the justice gate of this world. We indeed must be charitable towards others whom the Lord has not opened the womb in His providence. Job 42:2 Agreed,we must be charitable towards those whom God has not opened the womb. But for those who have chosen to prevent child bearing, they should consider the source from which they derive their rationale. Have they searched the Scriptures regarding the matter? Or have they bought into a humanistic lie? |

enough already wrote: Overcomer, thank you for your clarification in regards to an earlier post, I appreciate your thoughts and the kindness of your words. I agree, we shouldn't let society decide what is the 'limit' on the blessings God gives, however, I do feel in these hard economic times, God does expect us to use common sense as well. May the Lord grant wisdom to those who ask, and guidance to all as we take everything to Him in prayer. God bless you overcomer. With all due respect, Enough Already, "common sense" and "hard economic times" are not the driving force for a Believer in Jesus Christ. We love to hear about the heroes of the faith in Hebrews 11, but won't follow their footsteps:"By faith Sarah herself also received strength to conceive seed, and she bore a child when she was past the age, because she judged Him faithful who had promised" Heb 11:11 Those who trust God, in faith, to allow Him to be their family planner are at times, the most misunderstood Christians. But if they were "trusting" God for bigger houses, nicer cars, more vacations, better jobs, etc. most professing Christians would call that faith, while bearing more children would be considered, irresponsible, and poor stewardship. One word comes to mind;selfish. |

This is the latest fad sweeping Christianity, like God needs us to fight for Him. We are called to PREACH THE GOSPEL, I have yet to find a verse that states we should fight to retrieve this nation for Christ's sake. This is a fallen, sin-cursed world! Jesus will rightfully claim what is His at His second coming. Why would anyone want to hold on to this sin-infested, cursed world? Do not forget, we should not love this world, or the things of it, and should be in high anticipation of a new heaven and earth that is forthcoming. Please allow me to clarify my comments...I desire more than anything to be with Christ and His Kingdom. I do not desire to hang around here on this sinful planet for eternity. But Christ did tell us to occupy until He comes. No one knows the day or the hour of that return. In the meantime Christians are to love the Lord their God with all their heart, soul and mind. They are to obey God's command to be fruitful and multiply and subdue the earth. Our part is to obey. We are to trust God for our family size. We are not to take our cues from Planned Parenthood. We are to raise godly seed for God's glory. |

D. White,The current anti-child mentality among Christians, was introduced to the church in the 1930's via the Birth Control League and Margaret Sanger, founder of Planned Parenthood. Prior to this, it was unthinkable for a Christian family to neglect/reject the blessings of God.Children were equated with blessing, barreness was equated with cursing. ( I would encourage you to do a word study on barreness, shutting the womb, opening the womb) Having and bearing children is an act of faith. It is the Lord God who opens and shuts the womb. Although man can thwart those blessings, through chemical abortifacients ( the Pill, IUD ), sterilzation etc When we talk about presenting our bodies as a living sacrifice, would not childbearing be one of those sacrifices? Why would a Christian reject what He calls a blessing? |
