I read a separate article about how some people won't want to go back even if some of the closed churches do open. Church attendance will go down because of Covid, but those who remain are more committed to obeying Christ which can only be a good thing.

John I won't try to convert you, I'll leave you with this.

David Cloud, while hitch hiking across the country was converted by an Arminian who gave him a ride. But Cloud did not turn to his circumstance or experience but turned to the Bible alone to draw his doctrine and theology.

Swaggard who was converted at the hands of two Pentecostal women, became a tongue speaking women pastoring Pentecostal.

BG crusades were an EVENT for me. The preparations, churches bussing in en mass, the festival atmosphere, I was smitten. The dangers of relying on experience. God can use any circumstance but we draw from His word alone.
How many people are under bondage to where they received "healing?"

As far as leaving the converted alone-

Would my walk been better served if others had not contended for the faith? Are those within the church better served that way?

The Gospel was under attack right from get go in apostolic times, and we are better for it because Paul responded. The same is true throughout church history. We are the beneficiaries of the record of what the church fought back.

“What is disappointing to me is how few churches are standing up. How few large churches or even Christian leaders are willing to say ‘We’re not going to bow to Caesar. We’re going to serve our Lord,'” MacArthur said during an update video posted to the church’s account.

It's the usual thing, same old, same old. The majority will ignore the radical side of Christianity, preferring to live a quiet life without any jail time.

Johnny Mac has gone up in my estimation one hundredfold, and may the Lord bless his heart and keep him.

An unbelievable explosion from stored ammonium nitrate (I think it was). It had been there for some years, improperly stored. Someone captured the explosion on mobile phone. Huge.

Dear CV,

My testimony is that the sovereign Lord chose to save me, and he chose to save me through the ministry of three men, all of whom were half-arminian, who all believed that John 3:16 was saying that God loved everyone and sent his Son to save sinners.

Now think about it. Why didn't the Lord choose to save me through sovereign gracers? I tell you why. He couldn't find any willing to come and witness to me.

It's a wonder I am not arminian myself, no thanks to the 'valiant for truth' lazy good-for-nothings who were not willing to witness to someone who gave no appearance of being middle class, well suited, well heeled.

No, you're wasting your time now. I am converted through arminists, and you will have to get used to it. Next time, don't wait until a sinner is converted before trying to influence him in his doctrine. Go and convert him yourself. Get out into the world and preach the good news to everyone. Then you will get God's attention. Not until.

Third, addressing this matter of what’s wise or “beneficial” (see 1 Cor. 6:12), I personally wonder if defying government orders for the sake of a pandemic is the most judicious opportunity to exercise those muscles. The politics of LGBT tells me our churches may have more occasions to defy government requirements in years to come. Do we want to spend down our capital on pandemics? Right now, the guidelines restricting churches also restricts restaurants, movie theaters, museum, gyms, funeral homes, non-essential offices, shopping malls, barbershops, and more. As those restaurant and gym owners cast a glance over at our churches, will our refusal to abide by the same restrictions which are causing them financial distress help the witness of the gospel, especially if we could find other ways to comply, such as meeting outdoors? Again, all these are judgment calls. My point is merely, let’s leave room for churches to make different decisions à la Romans 14....

No Tim, it's your Armin'n Gospel of man having his hand in redemption that is offended. You didn't care that Gods glory is offended in your man being God! Your sensitivity stems from pride.

To you, Jesus looked over at the thief on the cross who happened to be there to choose.

Not a hair on his head, not a molecule in the universe, not an errant fly that could've landed on Pilates soup making him sick could've changed the day hour minute of the crucif'n that was pre-ordained in eternity past. It's a mystery!! The thief was there just as God had pre-determined it.

Acts 2:23 is a mystery.

98% of evangelicals are Arminians. Where does man as god have a choice if there is DETERMINATE COUNCEL and FOREKNOWLEDGE of God? You choice cancels Gods hand.

Tim, when God the Holy Spirit brings you the light of His word and you keep rebuffing, He will leave you in your darkness so that you keep believing the lie. You pray honestly before God!

John, if a trumpet give an uncertain sound.. You believe in the sovereignty of God but you keep hi-fiving Armins, muddying the truth. Greatest theologians of past never got away with compromise. Sound a clear message!

Hey Frank,

I'm a night hawk by nature and my brain is most active and productive when most people are asleep. I have to take a sleep med to shut it down so I can sleep. And you're an hour behind me anyway so not all that late here. But thanks for asking.

Yes, there is so much hypocrisy in these demands. You named a few and the one that came to my mind is the Las Vegas resorts and casinos. The slot machines butt up against each other and the players drink and eat at the machines, so no masks.

My thoughts on this subject are simple. I believe that each congregation should be independent and if their pastors say they are going to open, then they should open. It would then be up to the individual members whether they go or not.

From the internet:

Shincheonji's teaching claims that their founder Lee is the pastor who is prophesied in the new testament, sent by Jesus Christ in the time of Second Coming[3] and that the Book of Revelation is written in secret metaphors which only Lee is capable of deciphering.[4] Before founding his own religious movement, Lee was a member of a controversial group called the Olive Tree, a cult which spawned the first countercult movement in post-war Korea.[5]

Shincheonji teaches that it is the true faith with its members receiving salvation at the time of final judgment. Everyone not in the group will be denied forgiveness and destroyed.[6]

Mike, John MacArthur really doesn't have a better reason since there's an Internet to carry services. I have no problem if a church can find some way to keep the virus out. I would think that more churches in California could have outdoor services than many other places could? It has a dry heat, so if you aren't directly in the sun it's even comfortable outdoors. Time will tell if John can get away with it and not have a lot of people catch the covid-19 virus ❗👎

You won't find me in any bars or churches until a good vaccine come out ❗ 👍
