This is an example of a reprobate mind. Rom 1:28. REPROBATE a depraved, unprincipled, or wicked person: a drunken reprobate. a person rejected by God and beyond hope of salvation. Some of them still can be saved. 2Pet 3:9.
There are people who believe in the 'originals only' which is a step back from the Modernists. They believe 'the Bible is only pure in the originals'and all copies are corrupt. And sinful man can fix God's holy word. God preserved his words. Pro 30:5-6. God also preserved his saints. PS 121:7; Pro 2:8.
I will encourage the commenters to study for themselves the topic of wine, strong drink, new and old wine very diligently. There is a lot of repentance for Christians who enjoy the Devilās brew. Leaven is symbolic of sin, false doctrines and corruption. The Passover day and week was holy. Exo 13 7 Unleavened bread shall be eaten seven days; and there shall no leavened bread be seen with thee, neither shall there be leaven seen with thee in all thy quarters. Lk. 12 IN the mean time, when there were gathered together an innumerable multitude of people, insomuch that they trode one upon another, he began to say unto his disciples first of all, Beware ye of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy. 1Cor 5 6 Your glorying is not good. Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump? 7 Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us:
Hence Jesus Christ couldnāt have used fermented āalcoholicā wine for the last supper. If he did Christ would have been a sinner. Jam. 2:10. The fruit of the vine is new wine āunfermentedā grape juice. Mat. 26:29; Mk. 14:25; Gen. 40:10-11. Mat 26:29 But I say unto you, I will not drink henceforth of this fruit of the vine, until that day when I drink it new with you in my Fatherās kingdom.
Concerning the Passover in Exodus12 and 13. No leaven was to be used or found in Hebrew dwellings. In verse 15 of chapter 12 was the death penalty for disobedience. Exo. 12:18-19, 18 Ā¶ In the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month at even, ye shall eat unleavened bread, until the one and twentieth day of the month at even. Seven days shall there be no leaven found in your houses: for whosoever eateth that which is leavened, even that soul shall be cut off from the congregation of Israel, whether he be a stranger, or born in the land.
