Great Sermon! Yes, you are correct, it is Christ plus nothing. BUT, if you have truly believed, there will be obedience that follows, not continuing in disobedience. Jesus said that it is those who do the will of the Father that are His true disciples. The will of the Father is His Word.
You can âtalkâ to God all day long, but the true test of having a relationship with Him is obedience. If youâre talking to Him all day long & still doing things your way, not obeying His commands of how you are to live, that is not a relationship. Obedience is the key. You can think about Him & talk about Him, so what, that proves nothing. Obedience is the litmus test, Jesus even said so, âif you love Me, you will obey meâ. He didnât say if you love me you will talk about me or think about me.....
Where are you getting that there are reunions in Heaven? The Bible speaks of none, so it is just tradition and our own thinking that says that, not the Scriptures. Also, the context of the verse you quoted, âBut as it is written, â Eye hath not seen, nor â ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love himâ continues in the very next verse:
âBut God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.â He was talking about receiving the Spirit of God.
You have to read that passage from Paul in context. 2 verses later Paul said, âHow that he was caught up into paradise, and heard unspeakable words, which it is not lawful for a man to utter.â If Paul says itâs unlawful to utter what he saw in heaven, how is it everybody nowadays is able to utter the âsupposedâ things they see with all these so called near death experiences? Thatâs how I gage whether they are real or not, by what the Bible gives precedence of what Paul said. Itâs not hard.
No, the context Paul was speaking referred to days of fasting, NOT any other interpretation that most preachers teach about observing pagan holidays or the idolatrous birthday. Context, context, context
âYouâll live for Him because you love Him.â Anyone can say they love Yeshua (Jesus) all day long until they are blue in the face. The people need to hear, âHOW do we know we truly love Him?â Well, He Himself told us. Itâs by keeping His commandments. We can say, âI love Him, I love Him, I love Him.â But, if we are not keeping His commandments, we are lying and we DO NOT love Him. It is EXTREMELY imparitive that we GET THIS!!!!! The test of how we know we love Him is if we keep His commandments.
I still do not understand why those who profess Christ go to the beach, as you mentioned you, as a Pastor, did. Those who profess Christ are to dress modestly, not as the world dresses, which is immodest. Going to the beach, most women would wear bikinis and men would wear just swimming trunks. Where is the commanded modesty of the professing Christ followers?????????????????
Great Sermon! I was surprised to hear Pastor Schwertly use Rushdoony in a good light. Check out his beliefs on Kinism on YouTube. He is heard saying that marriage between two races is just barely legal. I used to admire him, but have a hard time reading or listening to a man that holds to Kinism beliefs.
Great Sermon! Very entertaining message. I disagree in that I believe UFO's people actually see are demonic beings. I'm not a pre-tribber either. Post-trib pre-mil is where I stand on the end times, but not dogmatic.
"Anyone note that homeopathics are incredibly popular?"
Yes homeopathy has become very popular in recent years. The sad thing is, it's a load of garbage. People will believe and pay big money for just about any alternative medicine these days. Most if not all is nothing more than new-age thinking or at the least the placebo effect. It seems people are so open nowadays to believing anything when it comes to their health. I believe the medical community is mostly at fault for the rise in alternative medicine popularity. Neither group is very trustworthy IMHO.
