Mike, your post "we shouldn't humanly limit God to, or by, a version, should we?" is well put and makes the most sense of all. Whatever version is preferred by the individual, I assure those who doubt, God can and will transform those who truly belong to Him. It would seem some are quick to pass judgment and doubt based on a preference, not realizing we, in our human state, cannot see what truly lies in the heart of those who may disagree with a view one holds fast to. Please, all should bear this in mind, "Do not speak evil against one another, brothers. The one who speaks against a brother or judges his brother speaks evil against the law and judges the law. There is only one lawgiver and judge, He who is able to save and to destroy." James 4:11,12- from the ESV |

John, If you belonged to Christ, you would leave the RCC, this church does not stand on God's word alone, it places church doctrine above the authoritative word of God, and demands salvation by works. A true believer recognizes the harm in following false teaching. Discernment is only given to those who have repented and received Christ, those who do so are changed from the inside out. The baptism of the Holy Spirit is the ONLY baptism that is truly essential in the new birth. The heart must be broken over it's sinful condition, then and only then will God take this broken, contrite heart and 'heal' it. You must cling to Christ, and His word, not church tradition. That is exactly where the Saducees and Pharisees went wrong, they too could not see the forest for the trees. |

If this mortal man wanted to truly heal the wounds, he would have handled the homosexual priests according to scripture; in a true bible believing, bible teaching, bible as the only authority church, these types would have been told to repent, if they did not repent, then they would have been removed from the church immediately. This man has no power to heal anything, he is still lost in sin. He compares to the religious leaders of Jesus' day, wearing their long-flowing robes, loving the 'authority' they thought they possessed, looking all prim and proper on the outside, but inside, the filth and stain of sin remains. This denomination just does not get it, a changed heart is vital to the new birth and eternal life. Only God can truly change a heart, as He sanctifies through His word those who truly belong to Christ. No showmanship here, just a humble heart seeking the Lord. |

KJV lover, if you truly possessed the power of God, you would not be a practicing idolater. To insist this translation is the only one and is all powerful is nothing more than your opinion. I know what the Lord has done in my heart, and He is using His word to transform my life. You are entitled to your opinion, but when you insist your opinion is the only right one, then you are in grave danger. Mark 12:24 -"Is this not the reason you are wrong, because you know neither the scriptures nor the power of God?" ESV "Are you not therefore mistaken, because you do not know the scriptures nor the power of God?" NKJV "Is this not the reason you are mistaken, that you do not understand the scriptures or the power of God?" NASB The bottom line is this, no one who is lost in sin will understand God's word, only He can open up our hearts and minds to His truth. Mark 12:24 is not a reference to born again believers anyway, it was directed at the Sadducees and their hypocritical belief. I pray you are not insinuating those who don't feel the way you do are lost in sin, if so, you are going where you need not go. |

Max, I wholeheartedly agree with your post. We MUST stand firm in the faith, not wavering or compromising in any way. "But my righteous one shall live by faith, and if he shrinks back, my soul has no pleasure in him" Heb. 10:38 These are perilous times, with deception and apostasy ever growing. Many have already fallen away from true, saving faith, their superficial belief is not enough to enable them to endure the wave of deception. May God strengthen and keep His remnant, may we boldly profess His truth, even, if need be, to the death. |

I study from the NKJV, along with the KJV, and the ESV. If someone chooses to use the KJV only, so be it. God will not condemn on the basis of which translation we use. He has the power to save to the utmost; it seems as if we are debating over something that shouldn't consume or divide Christians. My pastor uses the NASB, and I do not doubt his salvation because of it. Perhaps we are not being good stewards of our time, wasting precious hours biting and devouring one another over something as simple as a translation. Again, God will save those who repent and believe in the gospel, and He will teach each one according to His word, whether it be KJV, NKJV, or whatever is preferred. Let's not limit the power and might of our Heavenly Father by insisting on any one certain translation, let's get about the business which we were called, to live holy lives, standing firm in the faith, united in LOVE, being of ONE MIND, and proclaiming the gospel to a lost and dying world. This is what should be of the utmost importance! |

WSG- Read Romans 1:18-32. Especially verse 28, "And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God GAVE THEM OVER {God removes His restraint and their sin to run its inevitable coarse, because of sexual immorality, which begins in the heart and moves to the shame of the body, 2 Cor. 2:21, Gal. 5:19-23, Eph. 5:3, 1 Thess. 4:7} to a debased {this translates a greek word that means "not passing the test", used to describe useless, worthless metals, discarded because they contain too much impurity. God has tested man's minds and found them worthless and useless} mind, to do those things which are not fitting,- verse 29- being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality {including adultery and incest}, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness." 1 Timothy 4:2, "speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their own conscience seared {this is a reference to 'desensitization, unable to discern moral right from wrong} with a hot iron" God will remove His hand from those who continually suppress the truth and run headfirst into sexual immorality. These are God's warnings, not mine. The blood of Christ cleanses all who repent from sin and believe in the gospel. "Truly, these times of ignorance God overlooked, but now COMMANDS ALL men everywhere to REPENT" Acts 17:30 |
