Ernest, Let us not move from the current subject. I am well aware of how the Lord allows someone to twist the Scripture to break their neck. Beyond that, contrary to my post of Scripture, which leads many to believe I am a blind patriot, I am anything but. I do my best to accomplish what the Scriptures teaches in the given passages in regards to the government. Since you stated that we are not to be, "blind, irrational dufus when confronted by a tyranical government official", what do you suggest we do? And please, I am asking for a scriptural answer, not one of the, "i'll vote for one of them baby-killing, God-denying, take your guns, limp-wristed dems". In all truth, the republicans and democrats are so close to one-another in so many points it is frightening. But, I am not here to talk politics, I could care less. Let us speak of the Bible. I gave two very clear passages, if you want to refute them, please, by all means do so. But if it is just opinion vs. opinion then I am not interested. And, I too mean this with all do respect. |

Note:Not to say that I believe Bush is infallible, for I do not. Nor to say that I like him, I've never met him. But Scripture overrides my useless opinion as well as everyone else's. 1 Timothy 2:1-4 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. |

1 Peter 2:13-21 Submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord's sake: whether it be to the king, as supreme; Or unto governors, as unto them that are sent by him for the punishment of evildoers, and for the praise of them that do well. For so is the will of God, that with well doing ye may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men: As free, and not using your liberty for a cloke of maliciousness, but as the servants of God. Honour all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honour the king. Servants, be subject to your masters with all fear; not only to the good and gentle, but also to the froward. For this is thankworthy, if a man for conscience toward God endure grief, suffering wrongfully. For what glory is it, if, when ye be buffeted for your faults, ye shall take it patiently? but if, when ye do well, and suffer for it, ye take it patiently, this is acceptable with God. For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps: Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth: Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously: |

John, Don't neglect: 1Co 7:5 Defraud ye not one the other, except it be with consent for a time, that ye may give yourselves to fasting and prayer; and come together again, that Satan tempt you not for your incontinency. Acts 13:2 As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them. Acts 13:3 And when they had fasted and prayed, and laid their hands on them, they sent them away. |
