why do the catholics on this site seem to be avoiding my question like the plague?
Real Presence:

Lance:
Any other catholic in the midst:
Since Real Presence won't answer my question, will any other catholic step up to the plate?

I asked, "Where does the priest get ability to transform the bread and wine?"

GG:

"the guardian of truth in the Catholic Church"

son, you did get your sense of humor rolling didn't you? That was one funny line. I appreciate it, really.

Kestrel:

Maybe you missed my question. Look back at it to find the context.

K: Can you prove all that to be true by the Bible?
I know the history part is correct, but how do you claim the Presbyterian is the TRUE one and only.

Note: This is not a set-up, as I am truly curious to this... not saying I will agree, just wanting to know the reasoning.

...then again, you might have took my earlier advice...

John Yurich,

Concerning your post in regards to what you believe is unscriptural about the mass...

It looks like, from your post, that you believe in the Lord's Supper, not the mass. It is just that you take the catholic perversion of the Lord's Supper.

Let me ask you this... If those five points, (which one must admit, are five major points) are unscriptural and you haven't removed yourself... would anything make you remove yourself?

Look at the following passage:

Ro 16:17 Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.

Somehow, you have learned about the right doctrine of the Lord's supper, yet the rcc continually cuase offences contrary to the correct doctrine by their unscriptural stance... at what point do you make a stand?

Lance: On your reply to Cindy...

You must of missed:

Romans 7:18 For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not.

Romans 6:19 I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness.

Romans 6:6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.

Pay close attention to this one:

Romans 8:10 And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.

and this one:

Philippians 3:21 Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.

Of course, as always, you will have to believe the Bible to believe this post.

Most people don't have to read the satanic bible to know its junk, or a book by the pope to know its bunk, or a book by joyce meyers to know its off.

Kestrel:

One add-on to my last comment:

You stated: "Only those convinced of immersion would assume this statement to preclude sprinkle/pouring."

You are right about me being convinced of immersion. It was fifth grade English that convinced me.

You are spinning your wheels with me son. I don't give a flip what the greek says. I have a perfect preserved English text. In the Enlglish Text immersion is obvious. Thanks for nothing. Don't waste your time.

D. Wilson,

That is an amazing comment!

I am still trying to figure out though, how Jesus came UP OUT OF THE WATER during the whole sprinkling thing! He sure is amazing though...

Mr 1:9 ¶ And it came to pass in those days, that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized of John in
Jordan.
Mr 1:10 And straightway COMING UP OUT OF THE WATER he saw the heavens opened, and the Spirit like a dove descending upon him:

Lance: You stated:

"Where does this idea come from (apart from Sacred Tradition)? Well, obviously it's from the endlessly-argued-over scene at the Last Supper (Take, eat, this is my body...), found in Matt 26, Mark 14 and Luke 22, as well as in I Cor 11."

Still yet, those are passages for the Lord's Supper, yet none of the above given passages give the power or authority to MAN to change the bread to the body and the wine to the blood. Once again, "Where does the priest get ability to transform the bread and wine?"

I am not concerned with "vain" traditions of the rcc Lance, for one could argue those all the day long. Where in the Bible does God specifically give power to man to do this?

Furthermore, I dont give a rat what Calvin and Zwingli thought... let us not chase rabbits.

Lienus:

Well it is obvious you didn't come here to find truth but to spread lies, which is as much as I expected.

To begin: On the feelings issue, you stated:

"I feel that many Christians here are taking the Bible too literally."

.. Big deal. You lost people never take the Bible literally at all, which you should do. Furthermore, your feelings don't matter. Lastly, do YOU get to choose that Genesis is false while John 3:16 is not?

My statement was that it doesn't matter how YOU FEEL about something, everyone has opinions, and we know what those amount to.

I also agree that knowing the Bible well doesn't necessarily make you a better person. Satan knows that the Bible better than anyone here, but he is in no wise better. Furthermore, it takes the Holy Spirit to teach someone the Bible and for them to then grow from it.

As far as the false-prophet Muhammad and his lies in the unholy Koran goes... I will not go into a lengthy sermon there as the one I already presented to you fell on deaf ears. I will say this though, I serve a God that came to this earth to die for my sins, not some pagan deity created by some filthy murdering pedaphile.

Next... what make me right and all others wrong? The Bible, not me, the Bible.
Repent ye and believe the gospel!

you gotta admit, the way it was put, it could be taken either way.

I was just assuming, out of
the abundance of the heart the mouth
speaketh.

If I was wrong, my sincerest apology.
