GG: The church that Christ established? You mean the body of Christ? No of course not, you mean the ROMAN catholic cult, which was not established by Christ but by a ROMAN ruler. Get in reality GG. "I never said Purgatory didn't exist, I only said that the scriptural proof of it, is implied, which means that people who can't see their nose in front of their face...will ignore it." ... implied, implied, implied. No, it is not that I miss my big nose, it is that I don't RANDOMLY CREATE doctrine based on guesses and vain traditions of men. Like usual, tradition over Bible. GG, you should abandon that fake church and start with the Bible and build up from there. You should really try separating yourself from everything that your cult teaches and just go with the Bible. You should start with trusting Christ as your Savior, as a finished atonement, once an for all. |

Purgy:It would take either a lost man, or a complete fool to make such a mess of the Bible. Concerning your overly convincing passages of proof: Matthew: Where does it speak of purgatory? It speaks of someone not being forgiven of the sin of blasphemy, ever... that is not purgatory. I Cor. 3: Read the first 7 words, WORKS be burned, not the man. I Peter: Why make up something to apply here? Why not use references to places IN THE BIBLE where it is compared to prison? Jonah 2:6; Eph.4:8; 2 Pet 2:4; Jude 1:6 Concerning the dead in 4:6, are you certain he is not talking to the spiritually dead? Ro 6:11, 6:13; 2 Tim: Prayers for the dead? Hardly. The guy is still alive as far as one can tell. What about mercy in rewards? Crowns? Inheritance? the more i talk to maryites the more i realize... |

GG: Can you spell hypcorisy? I owed you that one on the spelling!Don't fret too much about the time it sometimes takes for others to reply... for sometimes work overcomes debates. You are right GG, a whole new can of worms has been opened. Let us begin. You stated: "Something that the bible has never claimed for itself, that it IS the SOLE organ for information to Christ's Church." ... you really ought to read 2 Timothy. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works. That verse at the end tells us the Scriptures are sufficient to be perfect, and throughly furnished unto all good works. Let us ponder another: “For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when YE RECEIVED THE WORD OF GOD WHICH YE HEARD OF US, YE RECEIVED IT NOT AS THE WORD OF MEN, BUT AS IT IS IN TRUTH, THE WORD OF GOD, which effectually worketh also in you that believe” (1 Thessalonians 2:13). “For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: A |

Real Presence:I don't blame you for not wanting to debate this issue, you and I know that man's tradition will not stand against the Bible. Just for a note, I have not mentioned, "my opinions". I asked a question and refuted an answer due to lack of Bible in the answer, no opinion there. You said: "I told you plainly..from the promise of Christ in his words which are declared at Mass." Mass? Where? I see the Lord's Supper. Yet, there IS STILL NOTHING, NOTHING, to prove that IF Christ actually turned the bread to flesh and the wine to blood, where does he then give man the power to do the same? You said: "His words are powerful enough to create what they say." ... ah, the key word there would be create. Yet, it is the ROMAN catholic cult and your opinion that are creating something. Where does the priest get his power to transubstantiate something? From Christ? Okay, chapter and verse please. While I am at it, you ever heard of the priesthood of believers? The only priests that I can find in the NT are the Jewish priests in the Gospels and Acts and Hebrews, the High Priest in Hebrews, and BELIEVERS as priests in Revelation. What keeps me, being a priest in that since, from transubstatiating something? |
