Apart from the nonsense shared by Jim, this is a good indicator of what life starts to look like under a totalitarian regime. Protesters are locked up for their message, not their actions, i.e. rioting or looting. This is what the Progressivea want for the US. They. Want to further export the CCP's Cultural Revolution 2.0 to America and beyond. Look at what it is doing to Hong Kong. Look at what it is doing to America, and the President has just put his foot down on Critical Race Theory training in Federal agencies calling it a cancer.

The response from the Left here shows their desperate clinging to the narrative that must be true or their world falls apart.
Everyone clings to some narrative in some way. For some, it's the mantra of the Left and the Marxist. For others, it's the Lord of "the good life" of wealth and freedom to pursue dreams, etc. But for Christians, the narrative we must cling to is the Gospel - that Jesus Christ came into the world and put on flesh to save sinners of which I am chief. I saw something somewhere that those who come to saving faith and repentance unto life reject the Marxist and the hedonist ways. Jim, you would do well to run to Christ rather than Marx and Mao.
Tim Keller can buy and re-build whatever he wants, but it better be built on the Rock. His Progressive approaches to theology with his celebrity and prominence have laid the axe to the root of the PCA.

Jim may have a point, although perhaps not the one he wanted to make. BLM has a lot of white college students supporting them in the streets. Locally, as the city police rolls up the worst of the instigators of the recent troubles, the news protrays white people as having been those who set police cars on fire, ravaged poor neighborhoods, and battled with police. Not a single person of color did I see as an instigator. White terrorism indeed, Jim! But under the guise of BLM, Antifa, and other anarchist groups seeking to bring in that glorious Marxist regime.
The CCP has always had zero tolerance for bringing up children in the nurture and admonision of the Lord. They, although less and less, tolerate adults claiming Christ. Children must not learn of their Creator, Sustainer, Savior, Redeemer, etc I'm their minds. CCP's indoctrination must have no competition.
So the truth gets more complicated. But one thing has come out of the summer that was supposed to be a reprieve from the virus...it's not as dangerous as it's been made out to be, esp the weaker variants. Yet states like California can shut down churches as if death stalked every attender. The truth is that death does stalk us, a reality of this post-Fall world. But over all things, including death, the Lord reigns. And right now, He not permitting COVID-19 to kill scores of people.
Thank you, Noname. That is excellent advice. Some here have been praying for Jim for years. Several have been very pointed to point him to Jesus. NeedHim has made Jim his personal ministry at times. I haven't been here as long. You are right that Jim likes the attention & seems at times to try to stir up an argument to fill that need. The best advice anyone gave regarding Jim came from one of the Moderators and was to simply ignore him. SA has graciously permitted Jim to continue in his folly. But we all pray that the Lord would turn his heart.

Seemed like loads of middle to upper class white college students who were taught to feel terrible about their so-called "white privaledge" and are attempting to show their rejection like any Marxist system would require. Heard a new term the other day - "virtue signally" as if participation makes one on the virtuous side and those who didn't were on the bad people side. My wife had surgery in a city hospital and struck up a conversation with one of the nurses or medical assistants who happened to be Black. The man told my wife that the white kids were making him feel guilty, but he had to avoid COVID, and besides he had to work.
Huh. Stevenr, I thought it was because our current government and societial structure is preventing everything from being free for everyone? Either excuse is just as ridiculous. Doubt those rioters would have liked it if someone came and burned their houses and livelihoods down. But simple fairness in actions between people, which some have said points to the existence of God, seems to get swept away in today's world.
