Let me guess its hard believism.

Sounds like another Calvinistic paradox.

Knock yourself out examining yourself (and taking verses out of context BTW) but its precious how you are able to discern that I am not part of the elect when you do not even know if YOU yourself are.

Talk about complicating the simplicity that is in the gospel.

And its your Calvinist friend that insists on constantly looking at his works to see if he is saved. While we believe in OSAS.

Right.

I prescribe you a fresh dose of common sense.

In other words it is not based on the promises of the Word of God but on the subjective assurance of human effort.

It just depends on how strict one's standards in comparison to another.

You have everything correct except the "based on Scripture" part.

I prescribe you a reality check.

"Is it vain babbling to exhort from the Scriptures what Paul exhorted the Corinthians?"

No. Calvinism is vain babbling.
_____________________________________
"To be consistant with the Scriptures God loved the world of His elect and chosen people of every tribe"

Noone denies that there is more than one meaning for world, silly. What you will be hard pressed to prove is the fabricated definition of "world" that does not exist anywhere in the Bible or in any dictionary in the world but simply in the mind of the Calvinist. It is a definition fabricated by Calvinist solely for Calvinist.

What you want to do is dismiss a valid definition (the more popular one at that) with one that is not even valid! It does not even exist... anywhere.

Besides the context will absolutely betray your position if you would care to look at it.

If the natural sense makes perfect sense, then seek no other sense.

Is it so hard for you to accept that God loves the world?

Is so simple, but Calvinism has to make it so complicated.

It is these theologies that rob the Christian from the simplicity that is in Christ.

It is a science falsely-so called that only render strife and questions that bring no edification.

20O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called:

21which some professing have erred concerning the faith.
_______________________________________

Answering Contender,

No. I simply have simple childlike faith.

It's really not all that complicated.

I prescribe you I John 5:
"10He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son. 11And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 12He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.

13These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God."

If you are constantly questioning your salvation, then there is a problem with your faith.

Contender,

I give you permission to post whatever theological dung you should choose to post.

In fact, please do.

"The plain truth is that you are not in control of your destiny and you have either been created a vessel of honour or a vessel of dishonour, elect unto salvation or elect to damnation."

And somehow you are! Ha!

Is'nt it ironic that the only people who believe God loves ONLY them are the Calvinist. This is what is reffered to as elitism: We are better than you by the very virtue of us being us.

Pathetic.

I much rather believe that God loves the man down the street as much as he loves me.

"For God so loved the world..."

Your words reveal to me that you cannot accept simple declarative statements from Scripture.

All the fighting and twitching all to prove that God loves you more than the guy down the street.

Pathetic.

Sola Scriptura wrote:

"Contender, I thought I got you off your Esau kick. I would think that for someone so interested in God's hatred of Esau would study the matter out more.'

It's a Calvinist mental block. Get use to it. After there position is completely destroyed by the devastating truth, they ignore it, offer no rebuttal, and go on parroting the same thing that has been refuted as if it never happened?

I call it the F_anciful L_and of the Calvinist.

You forgot to call Mike from NY a woman-hater and a Bush-lover.

Come on now, your slacking.

I should simply use Firefox browser. It comes with a built in spell checker. As I type my comments on SA it automatically lets me know when a word is being misspelled. Kinda like Word.

But then again, I want to stick to one IP address when I post on SA.
