Or, Brother John, permitting masses to move, shoulder to shoulder, thru cities decrying newfound "sins" of the culture?

It was believable at first, and out of an abundance of caution, many headed the advice. But once double standards come into view, one may engage in group worship idols of sport or politics but not the true and living God, that's the "hey, wait a minute..." moment for many.

So far, so good, Brother Frank. But having just gotten past my wife's recovery period, we are now facing a potential surgery that will be quite complicated for our developmentally disabled teenager. Yes sir, the Lord reigns. And no one is more grateful right now knowing He reigns and reigns supreme. Seeking out alternative medical opinions and options at this time.

I agree with you about the CCP. Despicable treatment of its citizens! Psalm 2.

Amen, Brother Frank. Much wisdom, sir. The regime already weaponized their population & diaspora. Why not destroy more people?

The concept of justice in America has become quite flawed and often political. One could say it's been equalized. Once upon a time, certain minorities had a larger percentage of miscarriages of justice. Now it's everyone. We should have raised the bar rather than dropping it in the dirt and leaving it lie.

Not so with the King of Kings, who shows no partiality and is no respecter of persons.

Psalm 2:10 applies.

My wife & I are concerned about MacArthur in a California courtroom. Hopefully this is taking place in Federal court.

I think everyone must be careful about leaning into the Cancel Culture methodology. If we do, we will find fault with everyone with the exception (assuming we're honest about it) of the Lord God Almighty.

There is no other hero, no other pure, no other always right.

In the meantime, if a fallable person shares truth, perhaps we should accept that truth as truth having been proven out thru Berean-like studies.

Otherwise, we begin to place ourselves above others as if we are founts of knowledge & wisdom, thinking more of ourselves than we ought or is warranted.

Instead, let us endeavor to take the lower seat and esteem others better than ourselves.

For I too am a sinner saved by grace, and grace alone.

Other side of the coin is that the fields are white for harvest among this generation.

Evolutionary and Marxist revolutionary theories permeates our colleges and our public schools. These confuse and lead away from a Biblical worldview.

Meanwhile, the nbr of homeschoolers is growing. There are quite a few within this age bracket who do hold to a Biblical worldview and are teaching it to their children.

His own know His voice.

FB is a difficult issue. We are not on FB and get a lot of pressure to join. One of the nation-wide ministries we're part of has a whole presence on FB which we cannot access, for instance.

Good question, Brother Frank. I heard a missionary explain once that what drives a lot of these attacks are fear. If the whole village doesn't stay loyal to whatever idol, there is a lot of fear that bad things will start to happen. So if a handful come to saving faith in Christ, the whole village isn't loyal anymore. Those who left idolatry must be brought back or else. It's a sad situation.

Capitol Hill Baptist isn't a staunchly conservative congregation. If the "moderates" are pushing back, one needs no further evidence that tyrrany is afoot.

Re: "social emotional class," we recently started high school in our homeschool. The goal is to get homeschooled children the right amount of credits in the right subjects. It's a bit of a puzzle. Not entirely sure how this class would fit. We're too busy doing math, English, history & science.

Re class size, this will be the generation that either figured it out on their own or failed miserably (key point - failure is always blamed on others today). With the exception of the relative handful of homeschoolers and Christian schooled children being the exception, my sense is that most who are public schooled will fail.

Unlike the Cancel Culture which cannot stand any voice except its own, I appreciate how SA has handled Jim. They have limited his posts when he goes too far afield in his agenda. But otherwise, they have permitted him to speak freely on their servers. Big Tech would have cancelled us by now. SA has shown grace. In doing so, they have reflected the grace that the Lord has shown them, and us who believe. My Hope is that Jim doesn't mistake grace for slackness in the same manner as 2 Peter 3. Judgement is coming. Kiss the Son now while He is but a little angry. Make peace thru Him then fall in behind Him as your Lord and Savior.

Been there, Brother Frank. Yes, chaplains have been handcuffed and not permitted to do their jobs. Good ones have been cashiered. I've had my own run ins. I've also met some chaplains who were attempting to preach and teach Christ and seemed to be tolerated. They were also fairly junior.

But you are so right about the nature of this world. You are also very right about what our forebears in the faith went thru. Compared with what I've faced, no comparison.

It's a hard time, Brother Frank, and I believe you have captured the tension well...maintaining employment while maintaining a Christian testimony (what Old English calls "conversation"). I have also had to be less overt in my testimony when I was on active duty. But, Christians can still shine thru in their conduct, adherence to the highest values, treatment of others, and work ethic. I found that the typical stereotype was true: the guy with all the Christian paraphenailia on his desk was one of the worst employees.

Instead of waving about our "label" like those of the LGBT crowd, we should be living what we say we believe. It's a whole lot more effective as a witness (1 Peter 4). And if we don't do what we say is true, doesn't it then expose ourselves as frauds (Romans 7 notwithstanding)?

Our brethren in China are living this now in a more extreme way. We here in the US are only starting to feel the pressure.

The CCP and particularly Xi are on a tear thru Chinese society which was permitted to have more personal freedom. What is happening in Western China, away from borders where info might leak, is troubling. But these Cultural Revolution 2.0 tactics are easily exportable anywhere in the nation, incl HK. Christians are in the crosshairs.

Unfortunately, the CCP and Maoists have exported the Cultural Revolution to our shores. It takes the form of Critical Race Theory and "social justice" but it's the same. And notice how the attention has to be shifted to the Russians. While Putin & Co. is not a trustworthy entity, they represent a different kind of threat and not as serious as the CCP.

It is a very difficult situation, Brother Frank, for our brothers and sisters who work in public schools. We need to pray for our Brother Wayfarer, for instance. I have heard that some school districts are better than others. We homeschool, so that's all beyond our personal knowledge.

I am grateful for AG Barr and for his stance against unconstitutional government intrusion. There have been too many AGs in the past who have done everything in their power to abuse citizens and their rights, including in the BHO Administration.

Romans 13 is as much a guide for the purpose of government as it is to us for how to deal with government.

Let the wicked make all the faces they want. The Lord holds them in derision. Psalm 2 applies.

The American experiment in Federal governance included checks and balances as well as a balance of power. Whether Cuomo can successfully sue on Congressional intent for discressionary spending is questionable.

The problem that the Trump Administration is confronting is not merely a law-and-ordet issue. It is local (and state) support for a Marxist uprising.

Heard this from a pulpit on Sunday - there is another tension, one between Romans 13 and Revelation 13. When the State begins to punish good as evil while upholding evil as good, the State becomes a beast that persecutes. How much of this do we see in Democratic states and cities?

There is always a day of reckoning. Those measures implemented or actions taken while "in crisis" will be fully examined on a calmer day. I saw this in Federal government years ago. It is a picture of the coming judgment of this world. Now is the time to make peace with the Son. Psalm 2 applies.
