Tax policy an aspect of Prophecy -
"20Then shall stand up in his estate a raiser of taxes in the glory of the kingdom: but within few days he shall be destroyed, neither in anger, nor in battle. 21And in his estate shall stand up a vile person, to whom they shall not give the honour of the kingdom: but he shall come in peaceably, and obtain the kingdom by flatteries. 22And with the arms of a flood shall they be overflown from before him, and shall be broken; yea, also the prince of the covenant. 23And after the league made with him he shall work deceitfully: for he shall come up, and shall become strong with a small people."
Dan11
I noticed Gill quotes 2Maccabees here to show the fulfilled prophecy

2macc 3:7
7 Now when Apollonius came to the king, and had shewed him of the money whereof he was told, the king chose out Heliodorus his treasurer, and sent him with a commandment to bring him the foresaid money.
--
Apocrypha--that is, books which are not regarded as equal to the holy Scriptures, and yet are profitable and good to read." (King James Version Defended page 98.)

Historical fulfillment shown of scripture by Gill an example of why the appendix of these books used to be given.
But rightly dropped when people got confused.
--
Gill made a good use here.

Kimmel Blames Trump, GOP After School Shooting: 'You're Obviously Mentally Ill'( insane for praying for peace for the families, &insane for quoting the Bible )
Jimmie's Kennel club of baying hounds woof at lib DOGma from hell.

Same boring song -Comedian turned left-wing activist Jimmy Kimmel had his barbs ready for Trump and the GOP on his Thursday evening show, after the horrific school shooting on February 14. As he has done previously on healthcare and guns, Kimmel went on a highly partisan, fake-news-filled rant blaming them for not “acting” when these tragedies occur, even slamming Trump as “mentally ill” for not giving in to the left’s demands for gun control.

Never their policies that lead to their unhappy State.

But now they that are younger than I have me in derision,
whose fathers I would have disdained to have set with the dogs of my flock.Job30:1

Is56:11

"Yea, they are greedy dogs which can never have enough,
and they are shepherds that cannot understand:
they all look to their own way, every one for his gain, from his quarter."

Rom1"21 Because that,
when they knew God,
they glorified him not as God,
neither were thankful;
but became vain in their imaginations,
and their foolish heart was darkened."

The Latest: Las Vegas gunman had anti-anxiety meds in system

By Associated Press
February 9, 2018 at 7:56 PM

LAS VEGAS — The Latest on autopsy results released after the Las Vegas massacre

showed signs of benzodiazepines in Paddock’s system

Paddock purchased Valium — without insurance at a Walgreens store in Reno the same day it was prescribed.

Diazepam is a sedative-hypnotic drug in the class of drugs known as benzodiazepines, which studies have shown can trigger aggressive behavior. Chronic use or abuse of sedatives such as diazepam can also trigger psychotic experiences, according to drugabuse.com.

http://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/2017/10/robert-farago/las-vegas-shooter-on-diazepam-showed-signs-of-mental-illness/

A Finnish study published in World Psychiatry in 2015 that examined people convicted of homicide found that their odds of killing were a remarkable 45% higher while they were on benzodiazepines.

True is not False

I believe everything God said.. Grey area is
I don't understand everything God said

Dt18:"17And the LORD said unto me, They have well spoken that which they have spoken. 18I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him. 19And it shall come to pass, that whosoever will not hearken unto my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him. 20But the prophet, which shall presume to speak a word in my name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or that shall speak in the name of other gods, even that prophet shall die.21And if thou say in thine heart, How shall we know the word which the LORD hath not spoken? 22When a prophet speaketh in the name of the LORD, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the LORD hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him"

1Cor2:16For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.

Now anyone who remotely knows me realizes this will not be my last post regarding this issue. The below came from the internet &I simply agree with it. ( I may have authored it)Notice, it says the "no legitimate perfect"version. Most of us with any common sense stop short of criticizing this silly thought if we are not so arrogant as to think OUR ignorance is others'.

My comment is simply for those who might occasionally stop by &might become confused. It is aimed at no one who participates on this forum.
AGNOSTIC NoBible ONLYISM
AGNOSTIC NoBible ONLYISM-ism is an aberrant teaching that considers the King James Version – specifically the ‘1611 Authorized Bible’ – to be an imperfect English-language Bible version.
Some AGNOSTIC NoBible ONLYISMists go so far as to insist that people who do trust the perfect pure King James Bible (there is only one edition of the King James Bible) are not right ,they believe &teach a heresy — one that violates the Biblical doctrine of salvation by adding errors to Scripture. Those AGNOSTIC NoBible ONLYISMists who teach this in so doing place themselves outside the boundaries Christian faith, & Jesus,Lk 4:4 may consider that heretical..
Lk4:4b"It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God."

Superstitious
Acts17:22 Then Paul stood in the midst of Mars' hill, and said, Ye men of Athens, I perceive that in all things ye are too superstitious.
23 For as I passed by, and beheld your devotions, I found an altar with this inscription, TO THE UNKNOWN GOD. Whom therefore ye ignorantly worship, him declare I unto you.
24 God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands;
25 Neither is worshipped with men's hands, as though he needed any thing, seeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and all things;
26 And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation;
27 That they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of us:
28 For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring.
29 Forasmuch then as we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Godhead is like unto gold, or silver, or stone, graven by art and man's device.
30 And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:"

Protecting Prenatal Persons: Does the Fourteenth Amendment Prohibit Abortion?
Harvard Journal of Law and Public Policy, Vol. 40, No. 2, 2017

https://papers.ssrn.com/sol3/papers.cfm?abstract_id=2970761##

What should the legal status of human beings in utero be under an originalist interpretation of the Constitution? Other legal thinkers have explored whether a national “right to abortion” can be justified on originalist grounds. Assuming that it cannot, and that Roe v. Wade and Planned Parenthood of Southeastern Pennsylvania v. Casey were wrongly decided, only two other options are available. Should preborn human beings be considered legal “persons” within the meaning of the Fourteenth Amendment, or do states retain authority to make abortion policy??

http://americanrtl.org/us-constitution-and-abortion

As Martin Luther King Jr. wrote in his Letter from a Birmingham Jail, quoting St. Augustine, "An unjust law is no law at all." For right and wrong (regarding theft, kidnapping, perjury, intentionally killing innocent people, etc.) do not come into existence with the passing of a law or the ratification of any nation's constitution. Rather, these behaviors describe actions that are inherently criminal because they violate fundamental human rights

The late Baptist pastor and King James Bible defender Bruce Lackey wrote a little book titled Why I Believe the Old King James Bible. On pages 44-48 he says regarding the use of the word devils and other alleged errors in the King James Bible: "Rather than treat these places as errors, why not remember that the King James translators were intelligent and reverent scholars, and try to find out why they did a particular thing in the way that they did?"

Mr Lackey writes: "The word ‘Devils’ is another word that the critics delight in pouncing on, as a wrong translation. Everyone knows, they say, that there is only one devil (Satan), but many demons. Also, the Greek word from which ‘devils’ comes (DAIMON, and cognates) is different from that which refers to Satan (DIABOLOS). Again, a little investigation will prove this charge to be foolish, to say the least, and ignorant, at the most. Consider:

Arm All Appropriate Personnel: Giving teachers, coaches, and administrators (only the ones who wish to) the right to protect themselves on campus is a backstop to all other methods. But it is a genuine deterrent nonetheless. If only 5-10% of staff were also armed, certified, and properly trained, there would be no threat that first got through the detectors, security professionals, and the hallways that would still be allowed complete and utter access to the student body. Instead of a coach taking bullets, giving up his life to protect his students, numbers of teachers and coaches would be ready to confront any threat that made it to their area of the campus.

Many claim that the KJV uses archaic language. Is this objection justified? Think about this for a moment... every department of human learning uses language peculiar to that particular field. Biology, botany, geology, physics, chemistry, mathematics, music, medicine (illus. of Physiotherapy), law etc. all use strange sounding words, phrases & expressions which a novice would call archaic & hard to understand!
The English of the KJV is not the English of the early 17th Century. To be exact, it is not the type of English that was ever spoken anywhere.
It is Biblical English, which was not used on ordinary occasions even by the translators who produced the KJV. As H Wheeler Robinson (1940) pointed out, one need only compare the preface written by the translators with the text of their translation to feel the difference in style. And the observations of W A Irwin (1952) are to the same support.
The KJV, he reminds us, owes its merit, not to 17th Century English – which was very different – but to its faithful translation of the original.
Its style is that of the Hebrew and of the NT Greek. Even in their use of thee and thou the translators were not following 17th Century English usage but Biblical usage, & singular /plural differentiaton seen only in AV's English.

Questions for Bible critics...
* 1)  Since you’re smart enough to find ‘mistakes’ in the AV, why don’t you correct them all and give us a PERFECT Bible?

* 2)  Where is the perfect & preserved word of God today? Can you send me a copy!

* 3)  Can a translation be inspired? (OT – Gen 42 – 45 (Joseph spoke Egyptian see Gen 42v23) yet
words recorded in Hebrew. NT - Acts 21v40 + 22v2 – spoken in Hebrew but written in Greek)

* 4)  If God could overshadow sinful men to produce the PERFECT INSPIRED Originals why couldn’t
He do it for the PERFECT PRESERVED Copies?
Where does it say He couldn’t?

* 5)  If God framed the worlds by His spoken word (Heb 11v3) why couldn’t He keep his words
perfect for us today? Who says he can’t?

What does God say about His Word?

Ecc 3:14 - I know that, whatsoever God doeth, it shall be for ever: nothing can be put to it, nor any thing taken from it: and God doeth it, that men should fear before him.
Cf:Rev22:18-19

Rom 3:4 - God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar;

Gal1:10b"if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ. "

Is it circular reasoning to prove the Bible is pure & Perfect by quoting the Bible that defines itself as pure & Perfect?
Mike wrote:
..quoting KJV verses is not proving ..
A “circular reasoning” charge is absurd. That’s like saying you can’t prove that the President lives in the White House by looking into the White House. It is looking into the White House that will provide the necessary proof.
--
the Bible says it is pure

https://www.timefortruth.co.uk/content/pages/documents/1300041269.pdf

‘Westminster Confession of Faith 17 Century p23’ says... ‘The OT in Hebrew & the NT in Greek, being immediately inspired by God & by His singular care & providence kept pure in all ages, are therefore authentical; so as in all controversies of religion, the Church is finally to appeal unto them.’(If only this was true today!)
Heb 4v12 - For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow,
and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

Jesus said-
Mat 24v35 – Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.

(same verse found in Mk13v31 + Lk 21v33)

Providential preservation properly proven.

Porque el Hijo del Hombre vino a salvar lo que se había perdido.Mt18:11

"For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost."
--
(2) verses above are both Words of God
Same with the next (2)
--
Also here
"Felipe dijo: Si crees de todo corazón, bien puedes. Y él respondiendo, dijo: Creo que Jesucristo es el Hijo de Dios."Hechos8:37

"And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God."
--
Paul had the scriptures to dispute reasonably with others
17:2
"Pablo, como acostumbraba, fue a ellos, y por tres sábados disputó con ellos de las Escrituras,"
2
And Paul, as his manner was, went in unto them, and three sabbath days reasoned with them out of the scriptures,
-
All of the above shows the preserved , perfect, inspired words of God.

That vs bible agnostic cultish lack of reason for a culled cut cult ?
-
How can one reason in a dispute lest one has inspired scripture ?
Apart from authority of God's words , posts devolve to "feeling" &
"Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye."
Mk7:13

¿Tradition of " only (non-extant) originals inspired"?
Not a biblical tradition.

Bible agnostics have no verse for their "God Only Inspired the Original Autographs of the Bible"
"The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.
Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever." —Ps12:6-7

We do have God's inspired &preserved Word today—the Authorised Bible was completed with the Book of Revelation in A.D. 96. bound Books of the Scriptures (called a codex) were produced on parchments (animal skins)
& papyrus(grass)
All flesh is as grass- it withers away but the word of God endures.
The Bible was a BINDING COLLECTION OF
COPIES OF PREVIOUSLY WRITTEN AUTOGRAPHS so,clearly .
,a copy can be inspired-
See 2ndTim. 3:16-18
&

http://www.jesus-is-savior.com/Great%20Men%20of%20God/final_authority.htm

“experts” (who think they're smarter than God) claim a copy [translation] of God's Word can't be inspired;
But a translation of the originals can be inspired.
Consider when Matthew quotes Isaiah 7:14 in Mat 1:23, he alters the text somewhat:
the wording is different, &a different number of words
2Tim3;15And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, "
..
16All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable.."
