John Lee, do you agree that the Bible describes churches as having bishops, deacons and saints? Are you a member of such a body? If not, are you seeking to become a member of such a body? Do you agree that the Bible describes pastors as rulers? Are you currently under submission to a biblically ordained church ruler? If not, are you trying to get to the place of such submission? Do you agree that Romans 14:4-23 is in the Bible? Do you agree that there is a biblical warrant contained therein to let people who want to observe special days unto the Lord do so without judging or molesting them? If so, then why do you refuse to obey? Is it I who have set myself against God and His Word, or is it possible that you should look in the mirror and say, âThou art the manâ?
There is no biblical warrant for the extrabiblical imposition of an artificial requirement that everything we do have a specific biblical warrant. There is, however, a biblical warrant for the organization of a church with bishops, deacons and saints. There is no biblical warrant for a rulerless hodgepodge of Christians to gather in a barn and have a roundtable discussion. There is a biblical mandate for preaching and teaching by a pastor who is called and gifted to teach. Do we demand a biblical warrant when others are not doing things the way we like to have them done, and dismiss the need for a biblical warrant when we ourselves want to do things that seem a bit unorthodox? Apparently so.
No time to explain right now, but âEasterâ is the correct word in Acts 12:4. The vital thing is not so much what we call the day (our church calls it âResurrection Sunday), but what we do with it. âIf ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.â A blessed day to all who believe.
Good thoughts, Fred, but the first day of Passover is always a High Sabbath regardless of the day of the week. BTW, a blessed Passover to all of our Messianic Jewish friends, Praise God that Christ our passover is sacrificed for us.
No, Jim, I rarely watch anything on the liberal Political Bulljiving Syndicate. BTW, why do they call black people African Americans if they donât call white folks European Americans? Another example of the liberal racist double standard, wouldnât you say?
Easily explained, Brother John. Even if you fudge and count part of a day as a day (try pulling that off at work,) there is no way Jesus could have been crucified on Friday, spend three days and three nights in the grave, and still be up and about by Sunday morning. However, if He died on a Wednesday, the math works perfectly: Wednesday, Thursday and Friday nights, as well as Thursday, Friday and Saturday days in the grave, rise at sunset Saturday (the actual beginning of the first day of the week), go and sprinkle the blood on the mercy seat in heaven, and be back at the cemetery to comfort Mary at sunrise on Sunday. Like so many traditions, âGood Fridayâ is in all likelihood an invention of the Roman Catholic crime syndicate.
Every year Biloxi, Mississippi hosts Black Spring Break for thousands of black college students and others. If an American city sponsored a White Spring Break, the liberals would cry âRacism ââand rightly so. So far I havenât seen one news outlet point out the racism of having Black Spring Break. As usual the double standard is in full bloom.
Under an oak tree? Sounds more like Druids to me. But I can understand Chris wanting to meet in a barn. After all, he was born in one, and still has the manners of a Duroc hog. Besides, that hayloft makes a much more comfortable bed than a park bench does.
Aside from the falsehoods against the ACLJ, Jim, what on earth does your silly little article have to do with the topic at hand? By the way, have you ever heard of libel? Youâre treading on mighty thin ice there, fella.
Read this until you understand it, Jim. Rich people are not paying their fair share. They are paying far, far more than their fair share. The only truly fair tax would be an across-the-board percentage to be paid by every person with income. No exemptions, no deductions, and one percentage rate for everyone.
If I am ever cremated, I want my ashes scattered by whatever ventilation system they use at the Democratic National Convention. If the lib kooks donât get right, at least itâll make âem sneeze for a while.
