I was going to ask if your local newspaper has a weekly religion page listing church services, but now that they have been moved online, that is no longer true. But still, if they did, have they run any editorials or columns about this story? 3. what do people mean by God? the guy sitting on a big throne with long white hair and beard, throwing thunderbolts down at us? 4. Compare the recent past--2009 Swine Flu or H1N1 virus. 60 million Americans affected, 12,000 died, yet did schools close? 5. Consider the 'regular' flu season for which we are given vaccines in Aug/Sept to prep for it. CDC says over 20,000 people died from Oct 1, 2019 to Feb 29, 2020. That's 4,000 people per month. Any news on it? To be fair, all NHL, NBA, SEC, NFL games should be cancelled from Oct 1 onwards to prevent this 'tragic loss of life.' Everyone should be required to wear face masks from October 1 through March 31.
You present true facts as far as you can assert, fair enough, yet there might be several unknowns hid from our knowledge in the present crisis. Take care
John UK wrote: Exactly CV. If anyone is going to convince me that Romans 14 can be used as a biblical principle for extra-biblical activities, I need to know if there are limits to how far you can go with it. However, I personally don't see any way the passage can be used as a biblical principle. There is a vague sort of notion that a man's conscience must never be thwarted, when it comes to individual practice. However, if that practice is not in accord with scripture, it is his conscience that is faulty, not the Christian who is trying to turn him around.
Well, well, well......
The accommodating myth of Romans 14 is growing into a cult for the Liberal wing of the evangelical lot to justify what it suits.
John, excellent point made about the pascha in the link. Unproved BLANKET statements super imposed on history to make 'sense' of unjustifiable fads of the day.
Unprofitable Servant wrote: That’s the issue John. When presented with evidence that Easter and Christmas are NOT of RCC origin you ignore it.
So we should imply then that Christmas and Easter was a fabrication of.....???? Who???? Let's be clear, the church calendar, of which Christmas and Easter are key part, was born in the bosom of the proto-apostate church of the early centuries, in time known as Roman Catholic
Reconsidering Lam 3:35-40, To turn aside the right of a man before the face of the most High, To subvert a man in his cause, the Lord approves not. Who is he that says, and it comes to pass, when the Lord commands it not? Out of the mouth of the most High proceeds not evil and good? Wherefore does a living man complain, a man for the punishment of his sins? Let us search and try our ways, and turn again to the LORD.
And where does all this money come from? Are not most countries already in debt? Can states borrow money? and from who? Or is it simply making money out of paper? Crisis procure decisive opportunities for bankers to secure prospect wealth by the returns from loans the "new" money created out of nothing ensures.

As all things work together for good, and being many remnant congregations in the UK made up mainly of elderly folk, this might serve for the church in Britain as a reality check to assess at which state the church is in.
Significant series Easy to spot on the ills of totalitarian socialist regimes, but it is rather harder to live under the pain everyday 'mild' socialistic policies inflict is our present Western societies
New monikers around for the usual purpose noticed.
Mixing information and twisting the posting order to suit the intend of some here ... how poor are we getting with this?
It does not say much for the Christian character of the posting body here when people congratulate the fact of apologies presented in advance for admiting that some might defer to the particular view presented. This sounds as an indication that some might be more in the business of suppressing truth than in the search of true knowledge ...
It is like congratulating a teenager for making him admit that he is not entitled to an opinion !?!?! The obvious mature debating skills seem at loss in the sea of Belial by such quagmires.
Disclaimer, Nothing to do with your apology, Lurker.
IMHO oftimes there is excesive fuss made of things which are plain, say things whose main sense is obvious, and the grieving is that sometimes man is trying to be wiser than God, or try to play 'god', or simply speculate upon things which are not totally given but inferred throughout the revelation of Scripture.
It is my personal understanding that often we should admit that the words of Christ: "...it is not given unto you to know ... " should be our contented lot.
My apologies if you, and/or others here differ on this, being then cause for misunderstanding, with the potential to develope into idle contempt which is not my intend.
Again my apologies if this if misconstrued in any other way than the reason for which it is shared.
Due to the often misuse of the RIP, and for general knowledge, it is fitting to be aware that a bible believer is with Christ in death. The RIP farewell to the dead derives from the RC wish for their dead to be free from any possible torment in the uncertainty of the after death.
