Thank you Quiet and for anyone else with a burden for china. I often look at the news from a different perspective, from the inside... looking out, and just get upset that so much of what is written is wrong, or twisted by the journalists. But unless I open a teleportal and drop you into China, it is really difficult to explain. May God open up opportunities for your churches to personally visit China someday. |

It's to be expected for this reaction, didn't we have like 5 news articles this week about that very controversial church with thousands of members meeting in an apartment refusing to register and pretending to persecuted for the gospel but actually their goal was bring democracy to communist lands? Or how about from the same organization and their approval of religious people idolizing their crosses and calling that a good Christian thing to do? Gee, I wonder how many times next week will hear the same stories repeated over and over again. Every pastor says that christian bookstores are filled with theological equivalent of poo, yet get their news from just as equally poopy Christianity today. |

My personal experience is no. You can find a Christian bible study in almost every community. There are registered Churches both under the 3 self church movement and independent. The Seven day Adventist also own their own churches with many members. I help out a bible school, there are also a few seminaries. A good resource I enjoy is called China Source: https://www.chinasource.org/ https://www.chinasource.org/resource-library/chinasource-quarterlies/recently-added Their journals are detailed with interviews from real Chinese people, as well as missionaries. |

Because we are supposed to follow the law of the land, if you have 3000+ people meeting in an apartment, you are supposed to register. Size matters, this is not a gospel issue, unless you can prove me wrong. The leaders of this church, and this church alone sought trouble, found trouble, hence the beatings. They are not known as peacemakers, just google their name, they are known for going against the government. On the other hand, many other faithful churches are known for being peacemakers, shining brightly. All your info comes from one place: China Aid, Bob Fu, ministry for human rights issues, to establish democracy in communist lands. This is not what Christians are called to do. |

Replying because some foolish person called me out:I won't rejoice ever for any suffering, I hate even the concept of hell, even though it's 100% true and just. But go ahead slander me. Compare me to Euthanasia. This article has nothing new, it's always one church, the Early rain church, yet to gain clicks, they call it a "Megachurch". Why don't they make it clear, that they are being persecuted not for the gospel, but because this Megachurch refuses to register with government. Why should a Megachurch with thousands of members not be registered? There are many small house churches who are not registered and are fellowshiping in peace. That is a fact. You get too big, you must register. Why are people rejoicing in a Megachurch? Why not follow the biblical model and split up? Have they forgotten to train men? There are many 3 self churches who legally operate and preach faithfully. Try the Beijing Haidian Christian church, with it's international and local services. And as far as persecution in the CCP, clearly you are allowed to leave the group. Why would any Christian be unequally yoked? Would you remain in your company who supports abortion, just for the free dental insurance? What does this say about your commitment to the Lord? |
